I don't know what Hollywood is doing but one thing's for sure, they're not doing a very good job at what they're doing.
No one cares about the films, there stupid just as the plots of the games are...what do you expect really?
You can't really make a masterpiece out of Resident evil, I mean I'm a massive fan but the plots of every game and the overall plot lead something to be desired, certainly aren't going to impress the writers guild that's for sure. I don't like Alice at all though I'm with you on that.
Also giving personality to a mindless and bland beast (Nemesis) I'm all for that considering there's nothing good about the character and he is nothing more then a Mr. X clone from RES 2. (Which ironically is a clone of every other Tyrant near enough.)

No, he's a Tyrant a mindless beast that attacks things, just like every other tyrant, also considering 3 is just a hash product (it was designed for nothing more then to bridge the gap before Code veronica's release) it's a very lacking game, especially considering how "big" the previous games were 3 had less content then those (only one scenario and mostly just retreads of areas from Resident evil 2.)
The plots are bad, very bad, they add to the charm of the series no doubt but in general the whole plot-line of Resident evil leaves a lot to be desired.
