Yeah, I do like the Matrix. What's your point? I may be a walking Matrix encyclopedia but the first movie was the best and it all just went downhill when they started mixing in the crazy philosophical BS in the second and third movies.

Meh, I thought the sequels did a decent job; not as good a job as the predecessor.
Smith getting into the 'real' world was a crap sub-plot though.

Agreed. Not to mention the part where Smith (as Bane) infiltrated Neo & Trinity's ship and blinded Mr. Anderson (๐Ÿ˜›) before being decapitated or something... That was a dumb sub-plot as well. Not like Neo's eyes being mortally damaged stopped him from seeing anyway.

Or maybe they're just good. Meh, everyone has a different taste anyway.

Co-signed.

Being hyped/overhyped doesn't actually make the movies themself any less good.. To me anyway.

The Pierce Brosnan movies weren't that great all things considered. They were funny as anything though, what with the innuendo and stuff ๐Ÿ˜‚

True that. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I guess I liked them all for the most part, with them being the first ones I really saw, but I think the one I liked most out of the Brosnan films was Goldeneye, partly due to the legendary video game made off of it. ๐Ÿ˜› But the movie was definitely kick-ass as well IMO.

Brosnan's really suave as Bond, but I dunno, I just like Daniel Craig's version for some reason. Guess it's because he's grittier or something.

Fair 'nuff. I can understand that.

Roger Moore is where it's truly at in the end though. For me anyway. He tops all the other Bond actors quite easily.

Well, Sci-Fi fan would typically mean that she loves sci-fi elements in general, no matter where they are *in most cases*. She just likes the Star Wars series, and it happens to have Sci-Fi elements. Doesn't make her a fan of Sci-Fi, just of Star Wars.

Ah, that explains it.

Hugo's awesome.

I know right? ๐Ÿ˜› And let's not forget that infamous laugh he made as Smith right after absorbing The Oracle and taking off his sunglasses. ๐Ÿ˜†

Cookies need love, like everything does.

From what I recall, the first movie had plenty of that philosophical BS you speak of as well.. Maybe not as much as the two sequels, but it was still there. The philosophical stuff is part of what I loved about the Matrix series anyway though ๐Ÿ˜ฌ, but I'll admit, they did overdo it once they introduced that Architect guy in Reloaded. I go like "lol wtf?" every time I see the part with him talking to Neo. You just can't make sense of characters like that... or can you?

edit: And my Thanksgiving was all right too. Stayed at my sister's house mainly and watched the boring football game, switching between other channels when my folks weren't watching at the moment. xD

Well, you recall wrong then ๐Ÿ˜› because all that existed of that in the first movie were the Oracle's comments on choice.

And most of the stuff Morpheus said to Neo throughout the movie...

I never understood that really. I don't think 2 and 3 are that bad, really. I think all three movies are about the same goodiness, which would be a bit above average.

Though I do think some things about it are pretty cool.

You're right; they're not bad movies. They just destroy what made the first one so deep and mysterious. The second at least had great action scenes that make it worth watching again. As for the third, it really shows nothing we haven't seen before besides the final fight (and I could've sworn the fight between Cloud & Sephiroth in Advent Children was similar to that).

By that same logic, I guess pretty much every movie sequel made destroys the mysteriousness of the originals as well.

Really though, with how successful The Matrix was, there was no way they wouldn't have made sequels to it.

I bought Shadow of the Colossus the other day and it arrived today in the post....is this awesome?

Don't get me wrong, I still love the second and third movie.

Just the first was amazing, and head and shoulders above the sequels ๐Ÿ˜›

Ah, fair enough. That much I agree with.
