I find Avatar: the last airbender to be ridiculous at times. especially at the Ozai vs Aang fight ending. We doing that spare the villian crap thing again? and Not to mention it never solve certain questions such as Zuko's mom's whereabouts.

I just feel the show was hampered down by its childish themes at times.

Well it is a cartoon. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Zuko's mum's wherabouts isn't really important at all imo. She's just exiled. Nothing really interesting in that. And yeah, deux ex machina'ing a way not to kill Ozai was incredibly cheap, but its not like they could have Aang straight up murdering the guy is it?

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays from Australia. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Some cartoons actually show some mature themes such as part one Naruto, BTAS, BB, and Static Shock.

Maybe Ozai could have destroyed himself though arrogance. Maybe Aang's compatriots could have arrived to help take down the Fire Lord. Maybe Azula, utterly insane, could have gone to destroy her father herself in a crazed attempt to take the throne by force. Maybe, and here's a crazy one, Aang could have killed the legitimate threat to the entire world. Maybe he could have done it understanding the needs of the world were above his own squeamishness. Maybe he could have been deeply affected by a necessary act of murder, and the denoument could have shown how, with the help of his friends, he was slowly repairing the damage as he matured into an adult.

There are a variety of alternate paths that could have been taken.

I got an early Christmas present from a friend of mine.

A Superman belt buckle.

Awh yeahhhhhh.

Wear it and FLYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

^This.

You can kill your respect villian and still achieve an important character development in understand why he needs to die, he's a danger if allowed to live.

And that is probably why I don't like batman or my self as he seems to put himself into mess trying not to kill his villains(I know he tried to kill joker on an occasion but still) but when shit gets dire you will need to let go of your morals for the sake of the people your trying to protect. having your villains live is just asking for trouble.

His own squeamishness was due to his desire to follow the teachings of his own people. His desire to defeat Ozai without taking his life is what helped him attain control over the Avatar State as well.
Personally, I would have preferred Aang to have left Ozai alive, but not with the help of the plot device technique he had learned from the Lion Turtle.

If Aang didn't have control of the Avatar state, he definitely would have murdered Ozai. Avatar State Aang is a ruthless murderer.

It did feel a little cheap though I will fully admit. I don't think they'd get away with killing him in any graphic way, like say a lightning bolt through the skull. They could have simply had him die in some way similar to Clayton in Tarzan or something like that.

And Merry Christmas Everybody! ๐Ÿ˜„

Why can't the protagonist just straight-up kill a bad guy? Good guys sometimes do bad things, and sometimes it's necessary.

No one wants to relate anything "bad" with supposed "good" characters. And having Aang kill Ozai is still bad cause it's murder. Not like Aang hasn't killed people but no one ever talks about that. I understand the sentiment that sometimes the good guy has to do the evil deed for the greater good, as do the majority of the characters.

I wouldn't say no one. I still like Aang, though I certainly would have preferred Ozai die. Then again maybe losing your bending ability is worse than death.

Wouldn't say 'ruthless', since technically speaking, all the Avatars are present in the Avatar State, and they would only kill to protect themselves/innocents or the World.
The only time I think Aang was a ruthless murderer, was when he became the medium for that pissed off Ocean spirit creature. (I just realized, Admiral Zhao is a moon-buster awesome). Even then, it cannot be blamed on Aang, since it was La just using his body.

Aang's a pacifist. Not to mention, his 'religion' teaches that everything that lives is sacred. Meh.

He also probably killed that earth general and his soldiers a little while after leaving the north pole. And him being a moon buster does put a damper on your plans. 313

That I wouldn't mind....except we see him talk to a former Air Nomad Avatar and she basically told him to kill Ozai because it was his duty. That probably bothers me the most, the fact that he asked for advice and ignored it like a kid, just to get a gift two minutes later that allows him a third option in the final confrontation.

You mean the dude that tried to get him into the Avatar State by making him go through several things? Nah, I don't think Aang kills him.
Must we bring that conversation here? If he busts our moon, the body will just fall onto the Earth, making the plan even easier. 131

After the talk with Yangchen, he tells Momo that he would have to kill Ozai, in order to save the World. So even if he hated doing it, at that point in time, he had no other option.
I think that only after the talk with the Lion Turtle, does he decide to ignore the previous Avatars, as he had a way to stop Ozai while keeping to his beliefs. Though yeah, the way Energybending was suddenly used to take away Ozai's bending was extremely crappy. It still looked ossum however.

This could be the first time I seen a kid npc get killed on screen in a MMO let alone a f2p

Well, I don't remember what happened to him then. And you should have thought about that before bumping it. Suffer the consequences!! But no, we shall not here. Only a few people would understand anyway.

Indeed, was a nice lightshow.

@the killing of the kid, wow

Merry Christmas, all you ridiculous nerds!
