All that tells me is a lot of people like him. Not that he is an acting god. In fact, it makes it more likely that he is overrated. Like James Cameron and Michael Bay.

Moo can you shut up?

Just for once? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Dude, I think you're attracting black holes...

Cameron is a little overrated. Especially when you look at the underwhelming Avatar. Bay is just....

Also, why compare Ford to two directors as opposed to two overrated actors?

He irritates the hell out of me for reasons I cannot explain. It's a shame too, because Indiana Jones is pretty bad ass. And I've only seen one of those four.

I know that feeling, I hate Nicholas Cage.

Avatar was never about the story, though. It was entirely about visualizing a planet of fiction and bringing it believably to life. In that goal, it succeeded spectacularly.

GK and Ush should participate in some Harry Potter vs. Star Wars threads. They both have very poignant posts and would help shed some light on the more "deluded" posters.

Edit: Bay is horrible. Period.

Blah. Last semester before graduation starts in a few days. Gotta get my stuff packed again. I probably won't be on here till it ends.

I suppose...but I didn't really care much for the world that much. I just wasn't that wowed by how pretty it was. That and a few design mistakes that irritate me.

Am I deluded? :'(

But on a series note. James Cameron directed the Matrix and the Terminator IIRC: making him still credible. What this has to do with Harrison Ford I have no clue.

Ignoring the apples to oranges comparison of actor to directors...who IS your idea of an acting god? I figure nobody's gonna make any progress here until we find the cause of your bizarre delusions instead of trying to make sense of the symptoms ๐Ÿ˜

While I like to watch movies, I very, very rarely get invested in a universe to the point where I find it enjoyable to discuss it in-depth enough to things like vs. threads. Video games' inherent interactivity helps me to be absorbed into a world more completely than with movies, to the point where, for example, throughout most of my teen years I and several friends developed an alternate interpretation of Star Fox's Lylat system with several years' worth of story and character development built into the plot. The only movie setting that I think I've been invested in to the same level is Star Wars, and with that I hold myself to a very strict set of standards about what I consider admissible or not, which would very likely limit me in such debates. And I'm afraid that as much as I loved the HP books throughout their run, I'm simply not as into the movie version of that universe. I still haven't seen Deathly Hallows, and I rather doubt I will until some time after it's gone to DVD.

Also, Bay is horrible.

The Matrix was the Wachowski brothers.

Edit: Pic was too big and I dun wanna break rules.

Dunno any acting gods.

If you're all upset over the comparison of actor to director, then how about Will Ferrel and Steve Carrel? Not serious actors, but both are incredibly overrated. I hate them both.

Steve Carell is good. Will Ferrell has his moments, I agree he's overrated though.

So you're either missing the point or dodging the question. Who do you consider a great actor if Ford is so unbearable?

Shocking everyone including myself, I agree with you on both of those actors. Will Ferrell annoys me in almost anything other than SNL clips (he was unusually tolerable in Megamind), and Steve Carrell, while hilarious in the US The Office, only plays that one style of bumbling, mumbling character in every role.

I must say, if you can't think of any acting gods, you're certainly not in a position to deny someone who has earned that praise.

You know what, **** that.

There is nothing wrong with Michael Bay's movies or his directing. uhuh

His only bad movies are like, the Transformers movies and Bad Boys 2.

I don't know that I would call anyone an acting god. I know plenty of people I could call great actors, but no acting god.
