The IG aren't a superior form of the Tyranids at all. haermm Considering the Tyranids are to a man more effective, AND outnumber the IG, with superior commanders to boot, are the race to push farthest into Imperial space, and are canonicly confirmed to have eaten dozens of galaxies.

A scouting fleet is currently fighting the Orks (In Octarius, the largest gathering of Orks in the galaxy), Eldar(Multiple craft worlds using their most powerful weapons), Imperium, and Tau simultaneously. (Thousands of IG armies and dozens of space marine chapters!)

Pffft. The Tyranids are stalemating the Orks on Octarius, were defeated by a single Eldar craftworld, and lost to the Tau, with the Tau not losing a single ship in the process. Tyranid suffer from that weaksawce "we cant do shit without the ovah mind!" weakness. There must be a trope for that.
