I have indeed heard that Tactics is the best. On the GBA version you can actually get the Master Sword. So if that appeals to ya...

Out of 7,8,9...I do admittedly like 7 more than 9 and both are better than 8 as far as I know.

Aura there is no GBA version. That is Tactics Advance, a different game. Fun, but inferior to Tactics.

Sure, Sazh and Snow are awesome and Fang is sexier than sex, but Lightning is an unlikeable *****, Hope is a punk, and Vanille, though adorable, is a laughable walking disaster.

Tactics has easily the best plotline of the game, having both characters with depth, SHAWKING twists and turns, and lots of bawssness like that.

It also has possibly some of the most srs bsns subject matter of any Final Fantasy game, classism is featured heavily, but probably the most SUPAR EDGY thing in the game is it basically expands on the Pharisee argument of the Bible. This is a minor spoiler, so if you care, I will censor it and you can choose not to read it:

He is basically Link, only with, you know, a demonstrated personality.

Despite all the bullshittery going on in the game, he remains a fundamentally decent person, he always lends help to those who need it, fighting for those who cannot help themselves, and does it at great personal expense. No Good Deed Goes Unpunished and all that.
