How? Star Wars was inspired by Flash Gordon serials and old world myth and religion. Star Trek took inspiration from classical stories like Horatio Hornblower and the idealistic, utopian lifestyle of future society. Star Wars is science fantasy, while Star Trek is science fiction. Star Wars is a swashbuckling, sweeping drama of good vs. evil, Star Trek is slower and focuses on morality, ethics, and justice.I actually did an essay on this topic back in high school, as the final for my writing course.
I normally hate homeschooling, or the concept of it, but the reason you were in it in 3rd grade seems like a cool exception. ๐
I greatly dislike the idea of homeschooling, myself. It just doesn't sit right with me to have someone who hasn't actually been trained in the subjects attempting to teach them.
I was one of those hyper-smart kids too, but I also got pulled from my normal classes to join the gifted program when I was in kindergarten ๐ I was lucky and went to good school, so yeah.

I certainly like it as a story that paints me as a hyper-intelligent badass as a kid. It's proven fun to tell at new jobs.

Homeschooling is much more awesome than normal school. Me and my teacher talked about the dynamics behind the capsules in DBZ. For some reason.
Awkward conversation there, but I can see it happening. xD

Well mine was temporary. I couldn't actually go to school easily at the time. ๐
Haha ๐
I think my other issue with it is that generally it requires one parent to pretty much give up anything else in order to stay home and constantly be with/take care of/teach the kids. Like, with my family? It could never have been an option, even if we were unhappy with my school. We're fully working class and when they were still together, both my parents worked. Any days off were luxuries.
I would never be able to do that myself. Hell, if we were well-off enough that only one of us needed to work, I still wouldn't do it (or be a stay at home mom at all). I'd go completely insane with that. It's not something I can really imagine why anyone would want to do it.

I had a broken leg at that the time. Why did you laugh? XD
Well, I had a teacher come in and actually teach me. My parents never left me alone of course while he was there though. They did leave my crippled ass home all the time.
