Ozai and Iroh are better benders than Azula so how come they don't use blue fire like her? Preference or what?

They don't need juiced up fire to pwn far more ass than she does.

And I'd choose Firebender too. Due to pretty much what everyone else has said, and the fact that Dragons were the original benders, which automatically makes Firebending > The Rest.

Growing up in the late 16th century Sengoku era Japan, Shinmen Takezo is shunned by the local villagers as a devil child due to his wild and violent nature. Running away from home with a fellow boy at age 17, Takezo joins the Toyotomi army to fight the Tokugawa clan at the battle of Sekigahara. However, the Tokugawa win a crushing victory, leading to nearly three hundred years of Shogunate rule. Takezo and his friend manage to survive the battle, and afterwards swear to do great things with their lives. However, after their paths separate, Takezo becomes a wanted criminal and must change his name and his nature in order to escape an ignoble death. Based on the book Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa, Vagabond is a fictional retelling of the life of Miyamoto Musashi, often referred to as the "Sword Saint", perhaps the most famous and successful of Japan's sword fighters.

from wiki, essentially if you like Vindland you like this.

Sounds good, I still have to get around to Vinland saga as well.

I'm reading a lot of shit at the moment (7th harry potter, a shit ton of Lobo comics, and 12th century chinese novel called Outlaws of the Marsh--which Suikoden is very loosely based off of.)

Vagabond is also based on a historic novel, Eiji Yoshikawa's novel Musashi. Though I can seem to find a translation for it.

What I'm saying is that they're all cool except for airbenders, who can only asphyxiate people.

...Umm, bend pockets of air into peoples' skulls? Maybe bend the air around a person to make it so dense that they may as well be moving through mud? If you're going to mention out-of-the-box ways of thinking for bending styles, don't half-ass it.

Airbenders can fly....Only the really powerful Firebenders can do that.

Airbenders can also make blades of wind.

A lot of fights would of been much shorter were Aang not a pacifist.

Airbenders can't fly without a Glide-stick though.

Certain Firebenders can bend lightning. Only an Airbender Avatar can do that.

Pretty much.

This is probably one of the primary reasons I'm looking forward to the new Avatar. She doesn't seem like one who would back down from finishing someone off, though since it'll still be Nick they might not allow an opportunity to show it...would be awesome to see an Avatar who don't take shit in action, though.

And Firebenders can't fly without a balloon or a comet that only shows up every 100 or so years.

One is useful for combat(though anyone can block it given the correct teachings) and the other is useful for combat and travel. πŸ˜›

Azula can. πŸ˜‰

Flying or really long jumps? Cause I believe it is that latter. All Airbenders can do that. πŸ˜›

Of course, I prefer Firebending. Since I've practiced some of the martial arts it is based on.

Oh Grievous, how you have fallen.

Comet >>>>> Airships > Glide Stick >= War Balloon. So Firebending still wins. πŸ˜›

Not merely useful, but deadly. And the number of those that can parry it are only three.

Earth = Air > Water > Fire.

That is how it goes, people. Deal with it.

A once in a lifetime comet. If one is lucky. πŸ˜›

True. But it seems only Ozai has shown the ability to use it swiftly. Maybe Iroh too I guess.

If Fire is so low on the totem pole, why was it winning the hundred year war? One can actually make the argument that Earth should be switched with Fire.

If I could sum it up in one word, disgraceful. Just when you think they couldn't butt**** him enough.

I s'pose. Iroh's awesome though. He redirected an actual Lightning Bolt. awesome

In all honesty, only the Earth Kingdom had the strength to oppose the Fire Nation. The Air Nomads did not have a Military, & were wiped out at the start of the War, while the Southern Water Tribe was down to a small contingent. The Northern Water Tribe did not really oppose the Fire Nation unless they came to their doorstep.

Sozin's comet, and the death of Avatar Roku were the two main reasons the Fire Nation was even capable of launching a worldwide campaign. If Roku had survived the volcanoes, I doubt even the comet would've allowed Sozin to do much.

Because Fire became an aggressive and consuming nation, bending art, and people in general. None of the other nations really had any desires to counter attack, which is why I would guess it didn't happen a whole lot.

I don't think the Earth nation in general was very aggressive, either. For some reason I seem to recall most of them being described as a much more steady people. They don't change much.

But hell, I don't know. I haven't seen the show in a long time. I do just remember that real Fire bending was generally lost in the nation. The people that practiced it, most couldn't control it, they only shot it out and let it burn.

And besides, Fire is lame as hell.
