Where the **** are people getting their "facts" about vampires and Werewolves?
If you want to go to the oldest sources, werewolves were men who made pagan pacts to transform into a wolf, or at best, a big Dire Wolf. Bipedal werewolves came later, much later.
Vampires on the other hand, were essentially Faeries. Supernatural creatures that feasted on the blood of mortals.
The idea that a werewolf should be physically superior to a werewolf is kind of "Why"?
Werewolves are merely monsters, men who take on a bestial form and generally lose their intelligence in doing so.
Classically, only a lich has prestige on the level of or higher than a vampire among the undead.

Faerie/Fairy are simply different spellings. I prefer the former but they're the same thing.
Also, you don't want to mess with the Fair Folk, because despite their name, they will **** your shit up.
Edit: wow, just saw your post on the last page about being "nerfed into faeries". You don't know much about the myths surrounding the fae and aos si, do you. Because goddamn.
Ehhh, don't care about undead stuff, myself. I find vampires and liches and the like quite overrated.
Fae, though. They are awesome. Also the original trolls. The 'nice' ones would still mess with people just for the fun of it and were pretty damn heartless, and the not nice ones...well, "not nice" is a rather huge understatement. And you really did not want to get on the bad side of the Wyld Hunt.

I agree with the general sentiment that Fae are awesome.Oberon is the Faerie. King of the Seelie, if I recall. It's also a typical go-to name for any male Faerie, I guess, kinda like Puck.
Yes and no. Oberon is seen as the default Faerie king, but he really wasn't 'created' as such 13th century - he's originally based on the character of Alberich from the Nibelungenlied (which is also what LOTR is based on), and then popularized as the King of the Fae in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Essentially, Oberon is now considered the Faerie King, but most myths about the Fae are Irish in origin, and Oberon is actually from Germanic mythology.
(I have actually performed in Midsummer Night's Dream, and I've read the Nibelungenlied in German. Both are awesome.)

I admit I was running entirely on a Midsummer Night's Dream when I posted that, yes. Not familiar with the original stories, I'm afraid.
I love A Midsummer Night's Dream. I still have most of the play memorized. But yeah, it's not exactly the best representation of fae mythology ๐ Do some research on the aos si/aos sidhe (same thing, different name). They are awesome.
This is a topic that I know far too much about ๐
