Well considering the fact that the character Peeta's a dick, solely IMO, I guess that isn't to far off.
Peeta's one of the few characters in the series who isn't a dick.
Gale, on the other hand...

It was fine up until the end. The soccer/football thing was pretty much BS, but otherwise I was impressed with detail and sources they used. Animation was awesome, too.

Maybe he's better in the book but from the movie his character came of a a real dick to me. It's probably just the actor though.
I'm completely neutral to Gale since I know next to nothing about the book.

Still a badass way to end a fight though.
There are more Death Battles btw. Here's another one:
Heheheheee I finished building my computer! And it works! 😱

Even in the movie he wasn't portrayed as a dick at all - the stuff he says and does are genuine, unlike Katniss who just plays along.
He was, on the other hand, incredibly useless in the movie.
One of the low points of it, imo. It's always impossible to fit 300+ pages of content into a 2 hour movie, and you can see how they were struggling by how Peeta went from being an enigmatic but ultimately highly resourceful character in the book to essentially a male damsel in distress in the movie. They didn't show how he essentially saved Katniss after her stunt with the bees, for example.
They did their best though. I don't hold it against the movie makers.

In the book he...really didn't do a whole lot, either. His only real bit of awesome was the bit that Blax mentioned that they didn't really show (then again, it also wasn't really shown in the book - just him yelling at her to run, which was in the movie). Otherwise, though, he basically just barely managed to stay alive and that was because of Katniss.
He was resourceful and enigmatic, yes, but nowhere near the fighter or survivalist that she was.
Well, that was the point the author was trying to make, I think. His skills were all cerebral and psychological, whereas she was more physically impressive and practical. She saved his life a number of times in obvious ways (getting the medicine, treating his wounds, etc), but on the other hand she would have been pretty handily ****ed if he hadn't worked her a good angle for getting sponsors, since she's borderline retarded when it comes to people skills. Basically, it would have impossible for either of them to win if they had only their own assets to rely on.

Peeta somehow killed a grown man in the 2nd Book. Not really sure how he did it.
No one ever said he's a poor fighter, because he's not - just when it comes to that he's nowhere near as good as Katniss is. He's better with the social side of things; they would not have gotten the sponsors they both needed to survive in the first place if not for him.

Yeah but I mean...the dude was like a bigger version of Cato and he gets beat by Peeta? Like...I just want to know how the fight played out. 😆
