It depends what we mean by ending. The Suicide Mission in Mass Effect 2 was genius imo. But the last choice wasn't that interesting and we see in ME3 that it really isn't that important (I think?). And I really like Kotors ending. Fight through the Star Forge, deal with Bastila, climatic lightsaber fight with Malak and then either become a hero and get a medal in a homage to ANH or become the Dark Lord again. Epic ending.
I don't really agree. There was nothing special about any of that to set it apart from the rest of the game, if you were playing as a light sider chances are you wouldn't have the offensive abilities required to defeat Malak, and I especially dislike that you could completely disregard every choice you made throughout the entire game at the very end. BioWare's always had very arbitrary alignment choices that ultimately don't matter a whole lot, but that was completely ridiculous.
Oh, and then there was no carryover into KOTOR2 at all.

I didn't pay 50 dollars for nine hours of gaming. I have played DLC with more run-time than that at much cheaper.
For another, even by Bioware standards, the game was impossibly buggy and broken.
Beyond that, the writing, while not bad by average videogame standards, was paltry by Bioware standards, and most of the characters weren't up to par.
I know how it looks, but I don't really think the game was horrible (And I liked some characters, particularly Sigrun), just nowhere near as good as what I expect from Bioware.

I say ok because some of the stuff regarding you was annoying with "for a time" added at the end of some, just to shoe horn the bs sequel were your character totally vanishes for some reason just so they can have him/her have no role in 2 and appear in 3.

Witch Hunt is sort of bawls, but it's not the reason why the PC doesn't appear in DA2.
I'm not saying he should have, just saying they had him "vanish" just so they can have that 3 second scene at the end of 2 where otherwise hes irrelevant to the story.

Maybe its just because I'm a SW fan, but climactic lightsaber duels are always special to me. The ending just had an epicness I felt.
Hmm, yes, I do remember Malak being a tough bastard to beat. Even if you're darksider he had ridiculous saving throws that counter most of what you can throw at him. You really had to cheese Force Speed + Master Flurry iirc.
Well, thats a factor in all games with a moral choice system. You need to be able to make moral choices, otherwise you might as well just input that you're playing darkside at the beginning and let the game play itself.
Well Kotor 2 was made by Obsidian anyway. Bioware had nothing to do with it. I thought it was pretty neat how you could choose your continuity at the start through that conversation with Atton.
