Tygra: 'I always questioned Lion-O's decisions, but they always worked out in the end.'
🙄
Yes, Tygra, because the plot bends over backwards for him, not because his decisions were any good. He got you into this situation, not you.
You know, all of them. These characters that you've been discussing for the last two pages or so.
Spoiler:
Lion-O did die, but his plot-armor is too mighty for him to stay down.

Considering he says that while having gotten them all trapped in a prison cell, it seems pretty natural to me.
Because Lion-O blundered into a trap, lost the sword, got them all captured and
Spoiler:. Tygra wouldn't be in that situation if not for Lion-O's stupidity. Also there was no way for Tygra to win without the gauntlet or sword. Put Lion-O in the same situation and it would have been the same.
got himself killed
Oh whats the point of even spoiling it anymore. Lion-O got himself killed like a dumbass. Overall I liked how the episodes focused on how much of a pathetic jackass he is and showed him moving past his faults. Hopefully he won't forget about his character development like he has the last 8 times and won't let his personal issues make him rush into stupid situations like a dunce anymore.
Wilykit is surprising likeable imo.

Eh, we'll have to see. Next episode is about Tygra, who is the one that gets to develop and be stupid. Nice change of pace.
I agree. A serious problem with this series is that so far nearly every episode has been about Lion-O, with none of the other characters getting episodes of their own where they get to develop. Theres just too much of a focus on him. Believe me I wanted to like him and I did in the first 2 episodes with how he dealt with the lizards etc, but since then I've just watched episode after episode of him acting like a moron and never learning from it since he just does the same thing next episode.
The reason I think Tygra would be a better main character is because so far the show has done nothing to show that he wouldn't be and because so much of the show has portrayed Lion-O as a brash idiot who only survives through luck and deus ex machina. I'm supposed to root for Lion-O because hes the main character and the 'rightful king' but so far I can't because he's only the king through heriditary right and because he's the chosen one. Meanwhile Tygra is shown to be much more competent without any of the personality problems Lion-O has, making him seem like a superior character in my eyes.
I will agree with you there. Even though I don't see much of the Aesop Amnesia in the first 8 episodes, I did see a lot of focus of Lion-O, which kinda shafts the others. I like Lion-O so far less of a problem.
The problem there is I find Tygra boring. He is perfect in the role he is. He sucked as a King dude lol.

The Japanese on a whole don't admit to the atrocities committed during WWII because it would be a country-wide social faux pas to lose face like that. So it tends to be whitewashed in their history books and not acknowledged.
You get the occasional badass like Osamu Tezuka (Father of Anime) who will explicitly portray the atrocities of Imperial Japan in a very unsympathetic light.
