I did too. Everyone I know who watched it did. Cause it's like...you have an idea where it's going to go...and then it does. Man, such a great episode.Really? The show is just ugly. And what I've seen of it just bores me.
I have a soft spot for classic heroism. I really like Hal Jordan's character in it. Certainly he wouldn't ever gamble his ring in a swordfight agianst a master swordsman just because the guy implied his dick was small. Unlike certain other characters I can mention...

His obsession in ep3 and his stupidity when he meets Panthro were lessons in it as well that he just ignored.
It was resolved and the lesson in the latter was Panthro's to learn, not Lion-O's.
And no, the Avatar was discovered by the rest of the world because Aang and Katara decided to play in a war ship.
Well it shouldn't have been because Panthro was 100% in the right in that episode. Lion-O proved that he was exactly the stupid inexperienced kid Panthro treated him like, but then because Lion-O has the Sword of Omens he's kingly material? Bullshit. He blundered into the situation like a dumbass and almost got them all killed (for the, oh, 3-4th time) to prove his willy is just as big as Panthros and somehow he's not the one who needs to learn a lesson?
Which was a good thing? I don't see your point here or how it relates to this argument.
In other news, todays Green Lantern was excellent.

Ah. Having just rewatched the episode, I realize I was remembering it right. Both of them learn a lesson, Panthro being the main one and Lion-O's being more subtle and easy to miss on the first viewing. And yes, because the Sword of Omens gives Lion-O sight beyond sight, he is fit to be the greatest king of Thundera.
The point was "Heroes in kids shows tend to do stupid shit because a lot of the time they are kids."

Except Lion-O is at least 17 whereas Aang is friggin' 12.Anyway started watching the new eps.
Holy shit I should start a counter for this. haermm
A kid exploring a world he has never been in before describes both of them. Of course, Katara has no excuse.
That's fine. I'll just keep a counter for every time Lion-O shows someone up. 313
I must admit I was pretty shocked aboot those new Generals. I mean, how the hell did they get away with that first scene in a kids show? I'm all for mature childrens programming but that was exceedingly dark even by adult standards.
Edit: Start of Episode 15: Lion-O blunders into the situation like a dumbass and almost gets everyone killed because of his own ego and stupidity.
Spoiler:
Gets himself killed though.

Haven't seen the episode all the way sadly. But I'll be getting it on the DvD when it comes out so yay.
Oh, and in the new episode a guy was literally asked by the Ancient Spirits of Evils to kill his infant son. He didn't, and they wiped out the rest of the race. haermm
Dude, the book said to go up. He was obviously going to go up.
