They didn't used to. Back in the day, they rivaled Nintendo in hardware for one, more mature games (because they didn't censor as heavily as did Nintendo) and a sports game lineup that dominated for a long time.
There are still some Sega Genesis games that I love to replay.

Being serious thougj, is Guild Wars 2 supposed to be magor step up from first one? Because I played the first for a but and I was kind of underwhelmed by it... it certainly didn't come close to knocking wow off its number 1 slot, like in prodcution values it didn't even come close and I foudn the quests kind of boring... just imo.
WoW's production values are shit, though, and TOR is already pretty screwed over as it is.
And I probably put about...45 hours into GW2 so far, between the two beta weekends and the one stress test day I was able to participate? I've played the game a fairly significant amount and barely even scratched the surface.
