That was a good read; thanks for posting it.
It's interesting how it was the dev team itself (specifically, their head) who was the bad guy of the story.
The publisher almost always gets the bad rep. Like, 99% of the time. Activision, THQ, EA are usually the bad guys. While the publisher often has a hand in a game being shitty, due to pushy release dates (MUST BE RELEASED IN TIME FOR THE CHRISTMAS SEASON NAAAOOOO), poor funding, or putting too many special requests into the game (try to make it Facebook connected; implement better DRM), I think Dev teams are probably at fault almost as often. Like Starcraft 2, where Activision basically gave Blizzard near-unlimited funding and time to make the game, and it still sucked.
The same's true for movies. I read an article recently about how the prequel trilogy might have benefited from some producer oversight, and I agree with the notion to an extent. Star Wars could have really benefited from Mr. Moneybags taking George aside and quietly noting that the concept of Jar Jar Binks was terrible, and slightly offensive.
Just goes to show, having the freedom to do what you want doesn't mean much if you're a bumbling moron.
Isn't it kinda weird there's all these princesses in MLP and yet there's never a Queen (besides Chrysalis)? You'd think now that since Cadence has moved up and is the Crystal Empire's new ruler, she would be called as such but isn't.

I really like that phrase. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery remember.

Yeah at first it seemed like the team was just trying to blame everything on him and I was suspicious of that, but the writer made sure to highlight that all their stories matched up on a lot of things and that thing with the credits was really convincing.
This does seem to be the case. RLM made the same observation and was dead on with that imo. These things should be a collaborative process. When you have just one guy in charge then things generally don't seem to go well for the project. Even books have editors.

Lauren Faust had wanted Celestia to be queen, not princess, but had been overruled.
Holy shit.....

Princess Celestia does sound a lot more catchy than Queen Celestia but it's still confusing. I know her and Luna are the rulers but to be called princesses, it would make newcomers wonder "So who's really ruling the land?" and I've actually been asked that question a couple times.

Now we just need to throw peoples brains into cybernetic bodies and have them connected to the internet. Once that's accomplished, hello Ghost in the Shell.

People still watch MLP? I thought the fandom died out when the rest of the world stopped giving a shit about the concept of grown men watching a cartoon show about anthropomorphic ponies. lolI guess the season had just ended, or something.
And yeah, the season just ended. New season started, and it's awesome.

MLP is the new Touhou, it's never going to die.
