DS2 didn't sell as well as they'd hoped either, to my knowledge.

Seems like it's classic "horror game in a FPS's world" syndrome, hence their attempts to appeal to the CoD crowd by making DS3 more action-adventure and less survival/horror.

Which, of course, just ended up alienating the people who actually liked the game for its survival/horror elements, thus the Resident Evil paradigm coming into effect.

As long as the goal is to make as much money as humanly possible, publishers will never have good horror franchises, unfortunately.

Dead Space 2 sold reasonably well, almost 3 million. EA probably wishes it sold 10 million but whatevs.

Certainly much better then 3, which has yet to break a million.
