because for one Zeus in GOW battles Kratos on a mountain, often hand to hand, Zeus in Mythology would punched that mountain down....or just turn Kratos into an animal, their very diffrent imo, the developers on the game CD's in the "in the making" section say they create the characters to be close to mytholgy but very much their own characters

I know my mythology.

And...changing how Zeus would fight/kill a character because sticking to what was seen in the myths would basically ruin the game doesn't count. Especially considering how the Greek gods basically did whatever the hell they felt like doing at that exact moment 😛

My opinion is that they are similar enough to be outruled. GK agrees. There's the relevant opinions for this forum.

It is not obvious to me. GoW Zeus differs a lot from Myth Zeus, just like most or perhaps all characters in GoW.

Sure, there is a difference between discussing a named one and a not named one. Is Diablo not allowed either? Because he is the devil, only with different characteristics and somewhat different powers, just like how Zeus from GoW is in ways different from the original.

Diablo is definatley no diffrent situation as GoW zeus, i mean honestly he even looks diffrent, Zeus in Myth seems to have similiar features but not the same as Gow Zeus, I just think if it originates from a game ,even if its named down in Myth somewhere, it should still be allowed if its the game version were using

otherwise DK is right, we could outrule prob almost every character, since every character does indeed likely come from a myth, connection elseware or other

Listen, I really do not know how difficult this is to understand.

Characters that are directly taken from another (non-game) source with minimal changes are not allowed.

Characters that are vaguely inspired by some other source are okay so long as that specific character originates in a game.

Also, considering the fact that things like Zeus, Diablo, vampires, etc., do not exist, how they look is not a judgment of how different they are from another source.

Can I use Gilgamesh in fights?
He idoesn't have much in common with the origin of the name as far as I can tell.

FF's various forms of Gilgamesh are allowed. He has a definite history in the series that makes him unique from the hero of the ancient Sumerian epic.

FF Gilgamesh would seem to be an interdimensional traveller, either on a search for Excalibur or powerful swords in general. Mythical Gilgamesh, on the other hand, searches for immortality.
