The God of War Gods are not allowed? Ummm...why?
They are nothing alike, take Typhon from Mythology, he was as tall as the sky, and one of or maybe the most powerful Titan ever, Zeus had to have all the other Gods empower him with their powers to fight him, and barely won. Oh, and Typhon also had all the Gods(even Zeus) turning into animals to hide and cower in fear from him, only Athena stood up, and lost badly.
GoW Gods and Mythological Gods are nothing alike.

The gods from GoW do more than simply share the name.
Why is this so damn hard to understand?

You know, I'm pretty sure it's up to those running the forum to decide what matters and what doesn't.
"Power levels" are only different at all because to have it exactly as they were in myths would render the game unplayable. Also, do you actually know anything about Greek mythology? The gods were basically a bunch of drunken grudgey 13 year olds. They constantly screwed with people simply because they could. So acting as they do in the game is very much in character for them.
So yes, it's a far cry from Odin and Gilgamesh and Shiva and Ifrit and the other FF characters who only share a name and nothing else. I mean, last I checked the mythological Shiva was not an ice goddess.
