Mirror's Edge is trying the concept of working the Parkour movement style in first person, and allows a great deal of freedom in pathing and even how you fight. For those who lose FPS you'll be able to steal plenty of guns. Or, if you so desire, you can fight just as well without ever picking one up. Variety in play style is a big deal at the moment.
Prototype, while it looks amazing and fun, is still a brawler/hack'n'slash at its core.
As an artist, personally I'm more intrigued by what Mirror's Edge offers.
And I enjoy brawlers and hack and slashes, hence why God of War is one of my favorite series. ๐
Prototype IMO just looks more fun IMO. It is honestly the kinda game I have been waiting for.
Now, Mirror's Edge certainly looks cool, and is different to be sure, but IMO, I think I would just enjoy Prototype more.
I am a man of simple taste, evisceration, explosions, and brutality.
That's what Prototype offers, so I think I will highly enjoy it. 131

also TT is a good game, but during certain points in the game the price goes all evil. it sounds cool, but it can get very frustrating at times. all in all, the games pretty good.
Okay, guys, serious time.
It has recently come to my attention that Pyramid Head from the Silent Hill series is a bit of a trouble. Canon-wise he's a bit overpowered, selectively incorporeal, and impossible to kill, as far as I can tell.
Obviously, we kind of can't have this.
So we're asking you, the minions. Should Pyramid Head be illegal in here, unless special limitations such as "not incorporeal" are specified in the first post?

yes, if we do go by canon, the Pyramid head is indeed invincible only until James faces up to his self doubts and fears does the Pyramid head become weak, but considering the VS matches never seem to incorporate James into them...then i would have to say yes make it illegal.
Any character that require certain specifications to defeat, such as plot devices or certain characters should be illegal and not only Pyramide Head. Another example would be Ultimecia who at her prime could only be defeated by the power of friendship.
There are more game characters like that out there, which I can list if you would like, but I think you get my point ๐
Unless undefeatable character of the sort has specified limitations and is defeatable due to thread creator terms, then yes, make it illegal.
I want to wait for more people to chime in, but so far the general opinion appears to be that certain characters should not be allowed unless given limitations.
Becci, a list of such characters would be appreciated. I don't claim to know anywhere near the majority of game characters, and I'm sure there are plenty of overpowered characters I don't know about.
I can not pull out a longer list from the top of my head, but some would be:
- Ultimecia: Can only be defeated by true friendship, capable of compressing time and existance
- Pyramide Head: Some guy who actual has no physical or ethereal body.
- Kain: Whenever killed is brought back to life by being part of a certain balance that require his existance.
- Warcraft Eternals: Virtually unkillable. Even if the body is destroyed.
[Some WC Eternal examples: Xavius, Sargeras, Medivh, Ursoc, Cenarius]
- Pyron: Was ever only defeated when having limited himself. Sized to dwarf planets, FTL speed and no proclaimed weakness or limit.
- Nozdormu: One with time, exists in past, now and future simultaneously. Knows own death and can alter own actions.
As I said, that was brought out of pretty much the blue. While they all are possible to defeat to a certain degree, none of them can truely die. I, much like how you said, do not know anywhere near the majority of game characters. These are merely some I am familiar with. My only true area of expertise is Warcraft, and if so is desired I could give you a complete list of entities virtually unkillable in the Warcraft universe.
