"Look what I picked up," Thomas yelled holding a belt of frags up," I'm gonna try throwing one at his chest" He said, and took off the clip, and through it directly at the crack, hoping it would go through.
(Your choice on whether it does or not.)

The explosion blew a large gap in it's chest and back, throwing blood everywhere and alowing the heavy assault weapon to blow through it. The creature fell down and looked as if it was trying to get up but quit moving. Derek got up and made his way to the others. "We need to get to the launch station now.."

"Launch Pad? what so you guys are just gonna run off station. What about all the innocent people, I thought you army men were all about courage. Shows what your taxes pay for" Thomas said and began walking away sneering.

" Wow that was a big explosion"

"Do you really see any survivors? Would you rather stay here and turn into those things? The whole city is gone and is going to nuked from space. We've got twenty-four hours to get to that launch pad." Derek made his way back to where Eric and the marines were.

Thomas looked down thinking about his options. He could stay with his family and die an honorable death, or he could run, run from it all...maybe get a job with the marines, live an honorable second half of life, or die an honorable death, tough decision. "I'm coming with you" he said awkwardly.

Eric stood up and made his way out of the building. walking towards Derek. " so whats are next move now man. I'm out of ammunitions as well. I think we should stock up. this place has got to have an armory."

"Find a vehicle and haul ass to the launch pad.. or we could walk it." He sat down holding his head. "That gun gives you one hell of a headache."

"well..If we get in a vehicle sure we will obviously make it there faster but what if their is survivors. I know we cant save them all but that doesn't mean we should just leave them in the dust. If we walk yes it will be more dangerous but still we may be able to find other people out there. I'm sure theirs people that don't even know whats going on. sitting at home and thinking every things ok. but we all know the reality. Is it fare for those people?"

"No, let's get a vehicle" Thomas said looking down. He did not want to pass his house again at any speed below 60 mph. He wouldn't be able to bear leaving his family to die and having to see them again, but he thought maybe it was for the best.

"Survival is key. Sometimes you have to amke a decision. My decision is to direct people towards the platform and keep going. You can as you like also but I know I am NOT becoming like those things.. Not like what happened to my father."

"finally, someone talking sense. Let's Go!"

"I guess I'm with you Derek. Lets just do this as fast as we can. First though like I said earlier we need to stock up. is their an armory here?"

"There's a gunshop and the owners dead, but I guess you guys have to 'uphold the law' don't you" Thomas said disgusted.

"Let's do this.. Oh by the way my name is Derek and this is my friend Eric. If you make a joke about ours names then I will probably just end up shooting you." He let out a slight chuckle. "The only armory is at the base we are just at an outpost."

Eric started laughing under his breath. " please sir don't lump me in with the military dogs. The names Eric" He said as he extended his hand to shake. " I am a 18 student who got a bad hitchhiker ride . you know the story, wrong place at the wrong time."

"Charming." Thomas said though their was amazement on his face. He had always wanted to be a marine once he got through college, but, he never got through college.

"Let's get to a car and to that gunshop, shall we?"

"Just a minute, There are two innocents just inside the bar, the others, well, they would shoot you on sight," Thomas went in and got Aubrey and silverin, "I told my gang to have some drinks, they'll need them" Thomas said sighing heavily with guilt, He looked up "Let's go!" he said
