Plots not withstanding, damaging/disabling Supes iPhone (which has happened before on panel to Orion) and striking while he's vulnerable is always an option for Surfer. I've seen nothing from the "Supes with Motherbox" camp to make me believe Supes would be more than an Astroforce-less Orion (whom I also feel Surfer could defeat) with less aggressive tendancies and more rationale.
Also, I'm of the school of thought that Surfer, like any intelligent GL, has what it takes to put regular Supes down, it's simply not depicted like that on panel due to Supes standing in the DCU (top dog/icon). He's got the perpetual "Hulk Hogan of the 80s" thing going (Doomsday was Undertaker).
And the whole battle speed versus motion speed argument is hilarious. As we all know, if a character performed at full capacity all storylines would be meaningless. Just because Surfer doesn't bash every opponent in the first picosecond of battle doesn't mean he hasn't shown on numerous occasions to be capable.
It's threads like this one that made me retire from active debating. You have the band-wagoneers who feel secure in their numbers though they've provided no evidence to support their claims, and then when someone calls them on it somehow they are mistaken and ignorant.

That's another reason why I retired from active debating. People always assume that the opponent of whoever they support fights like a complete idiot. When does Surfer ever resort to a pure slugfest? And when he's been provoked and fully engaged in combat, when has he ever been one-shotted by an equal?

regular Superman's Physical feats FAR FAR exceed Surfer's best feats with his power cosmic. When it comes to sheer output, Superman has surfer beat. Surfer has superman beat when it comes to versatility. thus The MB would just make Supers that much more dangerous as he would be getting healed instantly and having access to surfer's weaknesses as well. Also the MB doesn't have to be on the person to protect them does it? I dont' see it all of the time when being used.

Maybe the fact that Too much energy drives him insane and then makes him burn out. as is the case in The infinity crusade. Surfer has been pnwed before. In starmasters, he was getting hammered by the guy who could drain. that is for starters. I'm not a silver surfer know it all, but he's gotten it before.

If you think Superman wins under normal condidtions then you're gonna give this version 10/10. Most people don't think Superman can beat Surfer, and some think Surfer would handle him very easily. I'm of that category so an enhanced Supes just takes longer to fall IMO. The MB improves his stats and helas him, but it doesn't make him immune to attack. His arm was broken for cryin out loud. How about a nice K-Nite block.
