Not necessarily. Just Banner's brains + Hulk's body accomplishes the same thing.

I can think of a few. Some kind of high concentration knock out gas, low oxygen concentrations (provided he still needs to breathe, which could lead him to adapt, who knows), adamantium and/or vibranium coming into play, freezing, stasis, Tony Stark's paralysis key chain thing, you know that thing, forcefields, toxins, some kind of super deep pit.

Yeah, there'd be no need to get really complicated with the story or anything, just explain that by concentration, he was able to take over the Hulk's body.

One of the best reason to do this reboot is to tie in with the other Marvel films & eventually get to the Avengers. But right now, the box office is on a par with the first film, which was considered a financial disappointment. It got to about $250 million worldwide; I think this film would have to reach $300 million worldwide to be considered an unqualified success, and for others to follow.
Despite his comic popularity, I wonder if the Hulk truly works enough for a big mainstream audience. It would be easier if he was a straight up hero, rather than occupying a grey area between hero, anti hero & monster.
But then he wouldn't be who he was, I suppose.

I think the Hulk can, easily, draw an audience. The Hulk's character not being a superhero broadens the demographic to non comic fans. The Hulk is one of those rare comic characters that appeal to many people other than comic fans. I run into non comic fans all the time who say, i hate superhero's, but the Hulk is cool. I'm sure the T.V show has a lot to do with this, but, i think it is also his ability that strikes a chord with most people.
I don't know if the studio's will view this movie as a success or not. Considering that it will most likely, make back all of it's money two fold, makes it kind of hard to think otherwise. I really don't know how the Dvd sales will so, but i'm willing to bet that they will be far less than anticipated. I know the Director and Ed Norton have expressed enthusiastic interest to continue the story and branch out into a serial, but with this inundation of superhero movie's. I don't know how well Hulk can hold up against the more prominent superhero's. I think, if given another chance, Leterrier and Norton could produce, yet another piece of quality film which would dwarf their first attempt.

I think one problem about the Hulk is that the Hulk is always cgi instead of the Hulk being played by a wrestler or body builder.

You mdo realize how ridiculous it'd look for a human to play the Hulk in this day & age, right? It was okay to see in the '70's, but now it wouldn't work, especially for a big screen movie.

^ i agree

besides, if they do use a real person, they'll still need to do special effects for the jumping, smashing, etc...

using a real person to play Hulk these days is like using stop-motion to film a movie like Tranformers

Future of Hulk films uncertain 😬

Man, people need to start going to see this movie again. We need a sequel.

Well it looks like I can see the Hulk as the bad guy in the Avengers movie.

I still see him getting a sequel even if he appears in the Avengers movie.

If they make a 3rd movie and decide to put the leader in it I vote that they use this guy.

3rd?? slow down there

there isn't even a second

I felt the movie was boring. The action wasn't very impressive and the overall story was a little weak. I thought that the render and texture on the Hulk and Abomination was poor. The 3d models also wasn't very good.

Meh, to each his own. I thought the movie was perfect & is my favorite tied with TDK.

I believe he is referencing Ang Lee's piece of shit as the first Hulk movie, even if it isn't in continuity with the Incredible Hulk.

It wasn't terrible, and it wasn't great, but anyone who thinks TIH is a sequel to the 2003 movie is clearly idiotic.

Hulk 2008 was good and so was the action. The cgi effects were very impressive.

Hey ease up, I haven't even seen this new Incredible Hulk movie yet, I was going to say if they made a 2nd movie, but I realized that there was one before it... shyt why am I explaining myself to you anyways?

Because you rightfully fear me.

Now, I'm saying that this isn't a sequel, it's a reboot, and anyone who thinks so is an idiot. It wasn't directed at you, just anyone who sees TIH as a sequel.

I can see why Edward Norton was pissed at the version of the film that was released. The version HE preffered (remember he co-wrote it) had more psychological stuff with Dr. Sampson and the fabled Captain America scene. Hopefully all this will be in the DVD.
