You need to stop reading the new papers and go on a long hike in the woods. Nature will do you good.

In the 1800s, people firmly believed that cities were overfeminizing the male population (kind of like proto-metrosexuality). Men were stongly encouraged to take long leaves of absence to go "rough it" in rural/wild areas.

This movement in Europe, combined with later influences like American Trancendentalism, opened up the "western" world to many Buddhist and Native American philosophies about personal journies to enlightenment through nature.

Dear me. Here I was thinking the bad things in the world were our doing. Or simply random acts of nature. Sorry, I see nothing or the Devil in the world, nothing that could alone be attributed to him, any more then I see things that could alone be attributed to God. I see the wonders and horrors of nature. I see the highs and lows of humanity. Not some supernatural explanation that is somehow pulling our strings like puppets.

No "I" am not saying that but the Bible does reveal this. We are not saved from the penalty of sin "by our good, moral deeds." We are only saved "by faith in Jesus Christ." Our works should be a token or sign of our conversion not the cause or basis of it. That would nullify everything that Jesus did to bring about our salvation. Jesus did not die for nothing.

EXACTLY....Hence the problem....

Good people with fruits = Hell
Bad people who are saved = Heaven.

1 Corinthians 1:27-28
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,

1 Corinthians 1:29
that no flesh should glory in His presence .

God has it all figured out. God cannot be put in a box. Just when we think that we have God all figured out, He shows us another facet of His infinite wisdom and understanding. We think a person who has spent their life doing good ought to go to Heaven. It just makes since. Not if they don't know Jesus.

Oh snap! Jesus said something about tax collectors and harlots (prostitutes) who are trusting in Him getting into His Kingdom before the "outwardly" good folk who are relying on their good moral deeds and not on Jesus. Read:

Matthew 21:31
Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to Him, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you.

At that time tax collectors were the most hated and despised people in the land because they always exacted more from the people than necessary. Harlots were also looked upon with disdain (the reason is self-explanatory).

However, you do not.

Hell is the sensation of shame – the only sensation that our ego cannot tolerate whatsoever, because it humiliates it and completely nullifies it. The sensation of hell places the creature in a lower status than the “one and only”, the Creator – which exists outside him. It shows him that he is the lowest and the meanest of entities. The egoism cannot tolerate it to such an extent, that it is willing to give up its own attribute. That is the reason that hell is felt precisely by those who are called “wicked”, meaning those who call themselves wicked, because they want to become righteous, they want to justify the actions of the Creator on them.

That's not fair or just at all... what about people who never heard of God... what about people who died before Christianity ever existed...

Yes, I am always happy to see your logic on the subject, because of course it makes so much more sense that a person be saved because they can be labelled "Christian" regardless of their "works" while another lacking such a label can be damned regardless of their "works."

And how it all becomes so clear with all those Bible quotes that of course are slanted towards making it sound perfectly naturally and fair.

And it also becomes aware, that you pick and choose passages, not choosing statements that are representative of the Bible as a whole.

Thats overdramatizing evidence (If you can even call the bible that).

True, true.

Reminds me of what some film promotion companies do - when they want to get a critic quote promoting how good the film is they simply take a quote. They can even do it with critics who were panning the film by "creatively" selecting the parts of the review to quote.

😂 yes.

Hell is what we do to ourselves........

I suppose we have been programmed to think so.......................

Thinking about yourself is wrong, and then we feel guilty about our thoughts and that IS WHAT HELL IS......It's the guilt.

Hell is the sensation of shame – the only sensation that our ego cannot tolerate whatsoever, because it humiliates it and completely nullifies it.

''you believe all this rubbish because you fear death, it is the fear of oblivion, Judgement Day or the fires of Hell, depending on which version of claptrap you choose to believe in. It's so sad when our only punishment is that we which inflict on ourselves.

Freedom is the absence of feardom and this is the revelation that will bring this silly game to its rightful conclusion.''
