So even though I like your intepretation better, how can I know for sure who is right and who is wrong? Christian debators are all saying different things.

JIA, Sonnet, Marcello, JM, and a bunch of other idiots are the people I refer to when I say thier intepretations of the Bible differ greatly from your own !

There is war, there is famine, there is hatred because of sin and the desire to do wrong!!! We created a Hell on earth! WE'VE DEMANDED HELL!!! Can you not see this?

However the punishment must reflect the crime “eye for an eye”. If I still a piece of candy should I go to jail for he rest of my life? There was decent in heavens fold long before men so if he couldn’t get his angels right what makes man any different.

The actual idea of hell is funny due to the very nature of God as described by man.

* here, let me expound on a more specific point... some religious denominations preach that gays and lesbians are going straight to hell... that is stupid... the next reply would be: how can a good, loving God do that? heck, because God won't do that... what was wrong was the interpretations of these so-called "christians"... let us read from the Bible itself from where they claim they got that stupid idea...

You had it once, made you'll have to go through "hell" on earth before you run back to His open arms but there's ayearning within you that seeks fulfillment and you will never fill it. Sure deny what I'm saying through a post to boost yourself up and not appear weak. I really don't care. All I care is that you would find God's open arms of grace. You know you've sinned, your conscience is a reminder of it. But I cannot change your mind, only you can.

If you are close minded and not open to other ideas then why do you debate here unless you are trying to change others views?

Wow....that is all I can say. This really opened my mind. I guess I should make an effort not to clump Christian Faith as this one uniform totalitarian beleif, but rather recognize the diversity that exists among the seeming conformism that Christianity contains.

I do not accept the idea of Hell....not in the sense of it being eternal torment in the name of Love.

I can accept Hell as a realm of torment that was NOT created by God, or allowed by God, but exists beyond his ability to control- that, however, would suggest God is limitted.

I could also accept Hell as a realm of punishment by an immature and bigot God, but that would suggest that God is NOT all loving.

But for an All-Loving God to create a place of eternal torment for ANYONE, doesn't make any reasonable sense to me.

Unless Hell was like a temporary prison, or FILTER where one's personal evil is expired little by little, while whatever good is left in them goes to Heaven. Or even if our "good sides" go to Heaven, and the "evil" within us is banished to Hell...something like that would make more sense than your black and white version of damnation.

What exactly is your point ? I never said I was fulfilled....I said that after 18 years of beleiving in your God, I do not feel any stronger with that. I feel stronger now, just through self satisfaction.

I am not yearning for anything unattainable. I think I've become more realistic over time, and not so philosophically romantic about life.

I have to admit....the passions I once had when I was younger did die out little by little. I used to beleive and hope for so much, but those dreams were not realized. I only had struggles and lessons to learn.

I had to find myself, and I can honestly say I am more in touch with who I am now, then I ever was my entire life.

I also have a greater respect for life, and higher consideration for people today, then I did when I was "Christian"

Maybe I was "Christian" at the wrong time....maybe I was too immature and relied too much on Blind Faith to truly experience the magic of your God....but whatever the case, today I am not convinced as to the validity of Christianity or any monothestic machismo religion for that matter.

I do beleive that wondorful things can come out of Christianity, and that beautiful people can also come out of it. Don't get me wrong, but the SAME wondors and beauty comes out of Buddhists even more frequently, the SAME beauty and wondors come out of Athiests, Agnostics, Muslims, Homosexuals, etc.

We are ALL equally capable of being Great, or being horrible. Being a Christian does NOT put you on superior footing by ANY MEANS. So I feel NO MOTIVE to be Christian again. I only feel motive to be a good person. That is all I need, that is all I care to be.
