Krillin did surpass him by the end of the saga... krillin trained to fight cell whereas tien stayed exactly where he was. Now tien did have a good showing against cell and buu that make me think he could possibly be more powerful than krillin.

I really need to rewatch DBZ. I could have sworn that Tien was the most powerful non Saiyin/Namekian Z fighter, and the most powerful human (though I guess the reincarnated Buu eventually takes over that position). Not that Krillin was a slouch. Just saying I thought that was the pecking order.

He does have the best feats out of them all. Even held off 2nd Form Cell at the cost of his own energy though. I believe that given their training, Tien would destroy Krillin in H2H. The only thing Krillin really has going for him is that Destructo Disc.

Krillin cut super buu in haft and with stould a beating from kid buu and a giant blast, one capable of knocking out pieka (however i spelled) and that blond massive guy. Tien was KO by a single kick from super buu.

He did train to fight the Androids with Goku, but if memory serves, all of the Z fighters trained for their arrival. When did he surpass Tien?

And cutting buu in half isn't that great a feat.Buu has weak durability.Hes not that much past bullet proof.But his HF is what keeps him alive.He can heal from vapor.And super buu is stronger then kid buu.Kid buu is just much much more ruthless.
I agree 18 is stronger then tien.Even super sayian 2 trunks has problems with 17.

How does Krillin surpass him in the Namek Saga when Tien was one of the fighters whooping on the Ginyu Force Burter and Jeice. He was able to fight both of them. Krillin at the end of the Namek Saga couldn't even beat Recoome, who Yamcha had no problems beating.
Cutting Buu isn't that much of a feat since he has low durability. Dabura was able to pierce him with his sword. Krillin's disc didn't bother Cell at all.
Tien was hurting 2nd Form Cell, even if he wasn't he was able to produce a force that was stopping him, something Krillin couldn't do.
Also Super Buu is stronger than Kid Buu.
You know, if I knew it wouldn't cause a board wide calamity and civil war, I'd really want to do a Z Fighters vs a comic super team battle.
