Yesterday in the morning I tried to invent amalgams for the duel (I didn't know then that amalgamation is going to be double, so I was making those using darthgoober's tourney format).
The first amalgam (or first set of two amalgams since mind/powers characrers are the same but body character differs)is loosely called "Hell's Angel".
Var.1- "F16". Mind- Iron Fist. Since his skills in using chi were upgraded beyond just chi-speedups/chi-powerups/healing (healing got upgraded too), the most notable upgrades being hypnotic and charging powers, it's nice to have.
Body- Swift (thought of Angel, but Swift's winged flight is faster). "The fastest winged mammal on the earth" has her power of flight coming from traits of her anatomy (winged flight is allowed as a "body trait"😉. She's also quite durable and her speed is already reaching sonic (if we alld chi-speedups to that we'll get character able to fly on supersonic speeds), add to that her decent strength and durability level (durable enough to fly straight through brick walls).
Powers-K'. His chi-related powers like Blackout speedup would be hindered according to the rules (though anything K' can do with chi Iron Fist can do and sometimes even better not to mention Danny nowadays is really versailte in terms of using chi), that leaves us with pyrokinesis. Blasts, adding extra power to meele attacks, protective fiery aura...
Var.2 "Beast of fire". Mind and power characters are the same as "F-16", body character- Jakita Wagner (superstrength, superspeed coming from muscular strength (that can be upgraded with chi), good agility, reflexes, tepescopic vision).
More durable, can utilize ground speedblitz tactic, really dangerous in close combat.
The second amalgam is called "Wild Matrix". As for mind character, I'm choosing Nemesis aka Charis (a Wildstorm character, renegade member of Coda Sisterhood). Good fighting skills and equipment (has remotely contrlolled flying bike called Pegasus), most notable weapon is "genetic grenades" (destroy DNA molecules in all the cells of the victim), skilled swordswoman (one of the most skilled of all the Coda warriors in terms of that). Employs as a part of her tech personal protective forcefield enable to withstand the explosion of a building.
Body- "agile brick", so it's either Jakita or Warpath, though I'm going with Jakita. Though I can use a winged character (Angel or Swift) there as well...
Powers- Ambrose Chase. Though the offencive use of reality distortion powers is forbidden (the use of them on the enemies),as well as time manipulation powers, but indirect/protective use of distortion powers can do you good.
Third one is rather funny and isn't serious- "Sniper on the roof". Bullseye- Angel- Karnak.

Mind- Kenshiro of "Fist of North Star" anime/manga. Probably the most badass martial artist around among those who are supposed to have no superhuman powers apart from their skills.
Body- Jakita Wagner.

I'm going to use either K' or Kenshiro if they decide to allow them (promices seem sweet, but it's going to end up a bit f*cked up since there's some uproar against mixed media). Kenshiro is a beast when it comes to contact stuff.
But if their powersets are added to someone like Jakita Wagner, it's even better.
Kenshiro+Jakita=pretty much f*cked up opponents (Dragon breathing technique aka increasing your stats more than twice vuia utilizing your chi) not to mention Kenshiro being most probably the most dangerous street level character around.
K'+Jakita= not that sweet in terms of chi-powerups (though chi-speedups, some powerups allowing to break through very damage-resistant alloys being able to deaden himself to pain and stop bleeding are provided), but you also have pretty good pyrokinesis powers, not to mention combat skills, though not as good as Kenshiro's. Kenshiro is a beast when it comes to close combat.

If you remember who win the last low meta amalgam tournament, it's better to have ranged combat mode than to stick up with just a contact one (though jinzin's victory was rather illogical, he tried to deny Venom's weakness against fire...and succeeded in that only because of his opponent's love to extrapolate things).
But....we'll see.
Being touched by Kira's sword equals moving in double gravity (as if the fight was on the planet twice as big as Earth). That's why I prefer a character with superhuman physical stats as a part of my amalgam.
And as for Caerula... I have a character with pretty much similiar abilities (Charis aka Nemesis from Wildstorm) who's 3000 years old, an expert in Kherubim's martial arts and has access to pretty much advanced tech. Her semiemphatic ablilities allow her to predict the movement of any opponent as long as he\she is organic and has mind (but despite her empathic powers she has no "superpowers"- just really good fighting skills and some high tech equipment).

i never noticed this until today, but remember how in the original power rangers (if you're old enough to remember), the black guy was the black ranger, and the asian girl (the incredibly gorgeous thuy trang, or trang thuy, depending on how she'd pronounce it were she here god rest her soul) was the yellow ranger? coincidence?
i only realised it when someone told me today... 😖
