Let's be serious, this movie wouldn't work.
The voices of the actors wouldn't be at all like the voice actors used for the show, the hair for nearly all the characters would look ridiculous on screen, basically everything would have to be CGI...
Overall, this is just one of those things that would not translate well into a live action film.

1. Whoever said the characters have to sound exactly like they do in the cartoon?
2. Whoever said that the hair has to be that ridiculously big for the movie? It's pretty obvious their hair won't be that long.

How do you know that?
Jet Li could probably make a good Vegita but Ray Park could also pull off the role. He's short & he's pretty muscular. Not to mention he really does look like Vegita.
Jet Li is too old for this, besides he has stated that he will be doing to many more martial arts movies.
Do you really think that a smart movie maker is going to make their hair that long? Seriously, you have to think logically & common sense would tell anyone that their hair won't be made super long.
What if Glen Jacobs/Kane was cast as Piccolo? The only thing limiting him from being cast in the role is that he wouldn't look right doing martial arts because he's more of a brawler.

Since their using the anime's and manga's as source material, they should not deviate too much. The actors will be wearing wigs and if theres a sequel, When Goku goes SS2, he will wearing a longer wig. You are also forgetting that lots of CGI will be involved when they use their special moves.
The hair doesn't have to stand on end at all...they could just change the color and make it stand on end just a little.
Also, the fighting would require tons of CGI. Clothing is do-able with no problems...bad guys will be hard to do except perfect freiza....but even for perfect freiza, it may look stupid...
The movie would have to be really cheesy.
I think that a lot of things would have to be changed in order for live action movies to appeal to a larger audience....this is one reason the movies didn't make it very far...it is just hard to adapt to live action.
No matter what, I would see the movie if it was made live action.
It isn't impossible. There was this french or British movie made where some of the characters were half "human" and half CGI. It was a futuristic movie. The hybrid CGI effect worked really well considering that this movie was really pioneering the technique.

It won't look stupid if it's done the right way & the fighting wouldn't need to be done using a lot of CGI when it's just them punching each other. CGI should just focus mainly on the energy beams. The movie has potential to be good but we'll have to see if this Wong guy actually makes the movie any good.
