I'm struggling with my degree choices, I'm stuck between doing English or Philosophy and Politics. My dream is to be a script writer and I'm also massively into literature. But, everyone seems to not like the idea of me seeking my dream. Any advice on which to choose?
It's your life. Why have others that will only be a portion of your life make your decisions?
This is what you are going to be doing for your life, not for them, or their lives.
Go for your dream, go for what's best for you, go for what you are best at. Don't let people decide what you'll do.
Do you love both English and Philosophy and Politics equally? I can't choose for you, otherwise I'd be a hypocrite. But do what you love, do what will make you happy, and help yourself in the future.

Alright, well if you already knew the answer, you didn't really need help, did you?

Well, I love English more than Philosophy and Politics, but the trouble is when I decided I wanted to study English, everyone kicked off about it and started going on about employability etc. And when other people start to get so involved and passionate about my decision, I start to wonder whether I'm making the right one.

I understand how you feel.
Just think about it. What do you see yourself doing, and being happy with in the future? What seems too over the top, what seems ideal?

I think I'll study English and try my best to become a script writer in either comedy, or drama. I'd also love to be a journalist, so I suppose despite the criticism, I'm going to go for it and do what I want to do.Thanks for your help.
Of course, thank you for asking me for help with such an important problem. 😊

Dude, you would be a great script writer right now for the show "House". You could write some of his darkly sarcastic remarks.
