How is Scott going to keep this secret from Emma?

He is Cyclops! Trained by one of the most powerful psychics in the 616 Earth, married to to the most psychic entity in the universe and now is dating another powerful psychic. If anyone can develop some powerful mental block is has to be Cyclops.

Im starting to like this Cyclops and because thi is the first time im liking the character watch how they turn him into a skrull.

I don't see why he'd need to hide it from Emma, she would probably endorse something like this, however she probably would have picked a more diverse team.

But they're like mind-linked while they're getting it on. 😛 Unless she's begun to respect his privacy and all.

Which is my sentinments exactly. Oh well I guess it balances itself out since she probably didn't tell him about sending Kimura after the Weapon X people.

Well it would seem that Emma, Madrox and Scott are doing something right. Emma being the only female on this list. 😖hifty:

that being one of the more stupid decisions he's made so far imo...

i don't know... scott finally gets to be the anchor for a story, and yet they try to fundamentally change the guy... and as i said, decisions... 🙁

Luke Cage on second......

That seems to be a tragic theme for X-men leaders. They did the same thing with Xavier from the Onslaught story, Apocalypse the twelve and in the Danger storyline in Astonishing 🙁

With all this focus on Cyclop's character in Messiah Complex as well as Cable's, it makes me wonder if Marvel is planning on retconning one of the most character destroying descions they ever made.

When Jean was brought back (by retconning the Dark Phoenix Saga no less), they basically had Scott leave his wife and child to get back with Jean. Marvel's overall answer to justify this was to make Madalyn Pryor a supervillan and then have her killed.

While that is all well and good it still doesn't make up for the fact that Scott had become a deadbeat dad. So add this up to the rest of Cyclop's reputation with the likes of Cheating Husband. Doesn't exactly seem like the kind of guy who should be leading a team of superheroes or is that just me.

See, I know what you're getting at, but when you read AXM you think "Oh, so he abandoned his wife and kid, cheated on his wife and made out with a woman on his grave.. LULZ, AWESOME!"

He's kicking too much ass in Astonishing for me to care, to be honest. 😬

astonishing, to me, is more just a case of scott at the point now where he's just going to hold back alot less than he used to... he knows that emma loves him regardless of his faults (so that he doesnt have to hide them as much as he did), and he's finally coming to terms with who he is as a man and as a leader...

you bandwagon jumper you... 😛

I woulda dropped boring Jean too for exquisite Emma. 😍

Kissing over your dead wife's grave isn't that bad... doing Emma right then and there, now that would have been in bad taste. vin

Astonshing X-men is so awesome I consider it to be non-canon from all the crap the x-men have been given over the past.

Also, for every bit of coolness that Grant Morrison took away from Cyclops (which was all of his coolness), Joss Whendon has brought back and doubled. The same goes for everything Grant Morrison did the x-men

Having good morals and being a good leader are not always hand in hand.

I mean president Roosevelt was a womanizer who cheated on his wife and yet he was one of the greatest leaders in history.

i think it was one of the best arcs in a very long time... sure, the art was sickeningly bad at times, and im sure there were parts that just annoyed people, but when it came to portraying the x-men as grown up heroes with very human faults, wants and desires, i thought it did a good job...

Heh, Astonishing X-Men is pretty much a direct continuation to Morrison's run.

Yeah, but FDR was a freakin' PIMP! Plus, his wife was his second cousin and was ugly as hell, so he's allowed to get away with that kind of stuff.
