The snag I see with that, however, is that no matter how "badass" or "hardcore" Scott has become I still can't see him sending off a bunch of kids to kill former students of the Institute whom he as recently as New X-Men #43 referred to as among the last generation of X-Men. Nor any Brotherhood consisting of former New Mutants - which seems to be the other theory floating around. In fact it seems like a pretty retarded move on Scott's part to want to kill any remaining mutants, regardless of their allegiances, considering how few of their species remains. (Yes, in MC all bets were off and anyone (Marauders, Acolytes) in the way was fair game, but the catalyst of the baby is gone.)
Also erratum: Above I said 46 when I meant 43.
True I guess we'll have to wait and see. Current Cyclops isn't making any sense at the moment. Emma Frost is still very unstable, Xavier has no clue who he is and is being subtly influenced by the "bad guys". Storms logic regarding mutant issues has been warped for a while now. Cable is changing diapers, Bishop got a metal arm and Wolverine is preocuppied with the many teams he's on. There is no X-Men. 😐
