Because there are few active topics that contain something more than x vs y or respect z!. And even those ones are mostly I like this or I like that without any kind of in-depth analysis. Not to mention this site is not primarily know for its comicbook discussions (like CBR, Newsarama or even Herochat) which is why its hard for it to be seen as something else other than "Random forum, why should I bother ?".

That's true.

The acutal discussion of comics receives very little attention compared to the discussion of MAH HERO BEATS URS!

i liked how at the start, he was painting scott as being uber powerful (the most powerful on the team at the time), but with the good sense to keep it under wraps. it wasn't stan lee's scott that got me in to the character, but reading it nowadays, i can see where it all started.

Come to think of it I do remember that...I don't think his Scott was bad though. That Jean was actually funny in a pathetic sort of way but she really hasn't changed much personality-wise since then. Morrison is the only writer to ever write a Jean Grey with some sort of personality. Iceman is still a class clown and Angel is now a rich boy with a dark twist. Xavier coming across a jerk though from issue one is something I've always liked but I'm not sure if that was intentional or down to 60's writing.

Ultimate X-Men touched on that Scott thing but it's pretty shit to read.

aye. the man is nuts.

He is 😛. His departure meant the end of Storms prominence...much like what will happen to all of Bendis favourites when a new writer takes over the Avengers.

i liked stan's scott. not as much as other's, but i thought it was decent. ultimate scott wasnt great, but then again, as kris once told me, ultimate jean was such a **** that it wasnt funny.

hopefully its slott. that man is awesome.

Ultimate Scott did the best he could, considering.

He took care of Wolverine sure enough though. But not as hard as 616 Cyclops 313

😂

very true.

Matt Fraction has hinted
Spoiler:
Jeans return
btw. [/B]

He has? Where?

Or were you referring to the "Matt Fraction" poster on CBR?

I could have sworn that was a sockpuppet account, but perhaps the admins check the identity of posters claiming to be actual comic book creators?

If I were him I would stay far away from CBR at least. 🙂

Was that a sock? The writers that lurk on CBR always tend to get dibs on their real names. Well in that case thank god...and yes if I were him I'd stay the hell away from that place.

either way, it's been rumoured for a while now that jean will be coming back. even i heard it from someone else. it seems imminent...

I don't really know, but I thought you did unless you referred to something else?

Fraction HAS said he does not frequent internet forums. But the three posts so far by "Matt Fraction" does sound like they could be written by him, and you'd think the admins/mods would not allow just anyone to use the name of an actual writer. Bad PR for the whole site, but this might of course have slipped under their radar so far.

Yeah, "Second Coming" sounds like she might be returning all right. At the moment it seems to me like she will be reborn as a blank slate via Hope. That would be one way to avoid rehashing the stories last time she returned.

jean being raised by her own evil twin's son. i tell ya, it gets more and more like a soap every day...

Someone needs to put a bullet through that Messiah Baby's head and cancel Cable's ongoing everything that happened in Cable could have been told in a mini. What a waste Marvel....

lol, aye. it was massively drawn it...

i was saddened at reading the confession issue. it's a solid idea, and is probably what i would have done, but the execution was just so, so poor. the dialogue, the pacing, everything. bleh.

Agreed, I have no problem with the idea, half of those things Emma did Scott already knew about and yeah the dialogue and the execution at the end was terrible.

it was such a shame, because it was a really good idea, and the most logical way to show that their relationship was worth fighting for...

I gota say ive never taken a liking to emma ever. same white outfit floozie. Now Jean Grey... 😍
