Not really. It's because, physically, it's way more of an intrusion for women.
For a man, going around putting your penis into many women isn't necessarily considered bad. Women going around willingly letting multiple men put their penis into her is considered worse because it's taking something INTO the body, not PUTTING something in.

Cyclops seems different now, though. I don't mind reading the stories he's involved in. I quite like the fact that he's finally telling Professor X that his ideals don't really work in a practical sense at times like this. that's one of the reasons i like emma so much. she lets scott be scott. she doesnt have expectations of him other than him being himself.
Also, I just kinda viewed him as like...I dunno. Captain America with a crush and not as cool. I think it's also because he doesn't seem to have had a major story of his own. It's always been in connection to someone. It's always him dealing with something that's a result of someone. Could be wrong, since despite being well-versed on X-Men there are people who know more, it's not my forte.
it's true. the worst part is, some of his best stories have been when someone else was involved. his x-factor where he was finding out jean was back and then the subsequent search for madelyne were beautifully written.
That's why I'd love him to be the focus of an actual story with Sinister. A properly dark, twisted, rather hateful story. As we agreed on MSN, there's an actual goldmine of material there. Magneto: Testament proved that if done right, you can crack open a lot of dark history that adds an entire new dimension to a character, and I don't think Cyclops has had that. I all too often feel myself thinking "Why?", just in regard to his whole existence.

i don't think it's insecurity. it's just society having beaten it in to us from an early age that men are the sexual aggressors and women aren't supposed to be.

Pretty much, not to mention that the female is the only partner to be left with a little present after the "deed" and back then the male could very easily get scot free. So the whole unmarried pregancy /burden to the family issue is also a major factor.

You don't get to decide what my angle is. My angle was simply saying why it's frowned upon more for women than it is for men.
