How many men as Emma ACTUALLY slept with in any way that we could call her a whore, though?
I don't actually think it's as many as people would claim.
I thought the Utopia story was excellent, and I haven't liked X-Men for ages. Although, part of the reason I hated it was the on-going love triangle between Cyke, Jean and Logan. If they are essentially trying to make Frost/Cyke the new Jean/Cyke, then I'm out.
Cyclops seems to be shaping up for a role that doesn't leave me hating him or being bored by him. Let's not ruin it with "love".

The way things are looking and from Fractions comments I don't think it's heading the Jean/Scott route especially with Storm backing Scott and Namor backing Emma.

I'd hope not.Because with my current status of enjoying Marvel a lot right now, I'd hate for this Post-Utopia arc/Nation X storyline to end up shit, and riddled with love story nonsense.

you don't think good stories can have a couple at the centre of them?

well ive never said she slept wit Marvel earth's man population but i juz dont like her: as a person>her attitude, etc. shes like the girls id sleep with once n never again because of the simple fact of her being a ***** but knowing i could hit it
that's the thing, though: she's not really like that. it's a defence mechanism. the way she is with scott is her "true" self.

I really don't think Emmas slept with that many people. I never see Tony Starks being called a whore. Double standards.

Define "centre".
Mary Jane and Peter always worked because it wasn't so much a love story. It was more showing that being in love and being concerned for a loved one is a big deal. It takes a lot to make a relationship work. So how is he gonna do that, then go and be Spider-Man.
It's one of the many great flaws Stan Lee introduced to characters.
If the whole point of the story is a love story, then I can't stand it. To me, that's why I've never really liked Superman's comics much. He can't REALLY be killed, nobody is really a match for him that's gonna come along randomly. So they hinge it on the romance and I can't deal with that.
Spider-Man, Daredevil etc; these guys COULD die while stopping a mugging. So Mary Jane could easily not have a husband at any point (Not now, of course. F*cking O.M.D./B.N.D.).

ok, i can understand that. dealing with the day to day crap a couple goes through is something that should only be done on occasion, not taking up too much time.
no offence, but superman comics aren't like that at all. in recent years they've jacked up the number of enemy appearances that can kill him at any time, and lois hasn't really taken centre stage for a while now. plus, they've had more than a few moments where he's gone off and she's had to deal with the fact that he might not come back.
i do recommend, though, if you haven't already, to read Flash v2 197-225. It's the Wally West series where he goes up against the Rogues and Zoom. It deals heavily with Flash juggling his rapidly collapsing marriage and still going out and doing his thing against an enemy that's even faster than he is. It's very well written, and i'd recommend it to anyone...

Even so, that's more Lois Lane's problem.
I don't particularly care how Mary Jane is dealing with Parker being Spider-Man, but the fact that it's there in Spider-Man's life is enough to make his battles interesting.
That's kind of why I never liked X-Men before hand. Like I said, I just couldn't stand the Jean/Cyke/Logan thing. There's only so much "Jean! Fight it!", "I can't!" "JHHEEAAAAN!", I can take.
Cyclops seems different now, though. I don't mind reading the stories he's involved in. I quite like the fact that he's finally telling Professor X that his ideals don't really work in a practical sense at times like this. This makes me wonder if it was him in connection to Jean, that I didn't like. Maybe I've never really disliked him, as opposed to how he was written with a dependence.
Also, I just kinda viewed him as like...I dunno. Captain America with a crush and not as cool. I think it's also because he doesn't seem to have had a major story of his own. It's always been in connection to someone. It's always him dealing with something that's a result of someone. Could be wrong, since despite being well-versed on X-Men there are people who know more, it's not my forte.
That's why I'd love him to be the focus of an actual story with Sinister. A properly dark, twisted, rather hateful story. As we agreed on MSN, there's an actual goldmine of material there. Magneto: Testament proved that if done right, you can crack open a lot of dark history that adds an entire new dimension to a character, and I don't think Cyclops has had that. I all too often feel myself thinking "Why?", just in regard to his whole existence.
Although now Magneto is back (And what an entrance it was, for just one page), I have a feeling he's gonna be like "So, that guy's back. You uh...you gonna you know...*Mental noises*...him?", "Scott, his helmet blocks that.", "Still...".
I'm never sure what they're gonna do with Magneto though. Obviously he's nowhere near evil anymore (If he ever has been). So I'm not sure what there is to gain by him showing up in a hail of magnetism and saying "Like what you've done with the place.", r.e: Asteroid M.

Its still double standards. Men just feel insecure when they see women doing the same shit.
