I love the concept in which Solar was created and exists. In developing my Valiant Heros titles, or VH-2, as we like to call it, I just felt that we would have no place for the monthly adventures of a character who was powerful enough to create and destroy universes with the snap of a finger!

Which doesn’t mean that I didn’t think stories of about a character weren’t worth exploring…Therefore, the book you now hold in your hands. Man of the Atom is the first of our Valiant Heroes special event issue.

Yeah, I stopped reading Valiant after they decided to do the change. I was more of an Aric fan than anything else. And Aric being lost in the change was actually enough to make me quit reading comics altogether.

It seems that Solar had a MASSIVE upgrade from his previous incarnation, tho.

Solar was always powerful, more or less. His humanity is what restrained his actions.

Well if you liked Solar. I recommend v2 and Revelation. Its more of a 2 part mini series. Hell on Earth was a bit disappointed. I feel as if the direction of the character was lost.

You should also post the scan where he used residual energy from the Japan dragonship to vaporise 1/3 of a massive spider alien invasion fleet in one blast.

Not as impressive as his other uber feats but was probably the coolest.

Wasn't a Solar Issue. Was a Rai issue I think. When the Spider Aliens finally invaded earth and Mother and 1-A merged to lift the whole island of japan into the big dragonship to meet the invasion fleet.

I can't remember w/c issue tho but that was an early issue of Rai when he was still the guy who can make energy weapons and not the nanite guy.

I don't save my comics cuz they take up too much room. 🙁

A merging of Void, and Solar's 'other half' would have laid waste to the creation(s) from which both of them came (ie. Valiant and Image.)

The above fact was confirmed several times throughout the issue:

Despite the heroes' efforts otherwise, Solar's 'other half' and Void inevitably 'joined'. This action was subsequently causing "ALL realitieS" to crumble and be recreated.

The only way for this action to be averted and negated was for Solar to become a black hole, and absorb everything (a multiversal feat):

It should also be noted that during the above instance, Solar had yet to reabsorb his 'other half'. This means Solar preformed a multiversal feat at somewhere around half power:

b.) Regarding Solar's constant mentioning of timespace anomalies: "I did something inadvertently that triggered a Quantum Wave that's probably still rippling throughout timespace, causing anomalies in reality."
