You do realize that a black hole merely exerts a gravitational field proportional to the mass it has, right? If the moon was somehow compressed into a black hole but stayed in the same orbit, earth wouldn't be destroyed - in fact, earth would be perfectly fine.
A black hole is only really dangerous once you go past the event horizon. (or get too close to it and get spaghettified, in the case of a small black hole).
