The same can be said for anyone with higher end feats and high power levels and why they don't don't use it in "every fight". It has nothing to to with their actual ability to do it in the first place.
She does have limits, but still, on earth she's alreadys used Gamma radiation to enhance her powers, and the shockwave would mean nothing to her as she controls air as well.
I feel she would survive taking her abilities into account.

I don't doubt Storm's great powers....It's just the reaction time. Basically she has 5 seconds to condition the air so that a 30 megaton explosion's shock wave has no effect on her all while deflecting debris coming at her at the speed of light, then IF her body can take heat (50 Million Degrees) and radiation......

Take some time to find out what the electrical potential of the Earth itself is. I can't find anything about it. I'm sure it's astronomical, though. She tapped into that too, or, Solar Wind vs a manmade nuke, or How much power it would take to stimulate a solar flare on the sun(gamma gun)
Hell, one Storm= like....... a few HYDROGEN bombs.

The mutant named Storm is able to create a storm using just her mind, something completely impossible for your average person. Weather is affected by the sun, climate changes, and barometric pressure-- not one mutant, and in order to change those items, it would require energy on a very large scale. The feat would require Storm to create giga-watts of power, which is impossible for one person. Her body would have to act like a battery, recharging after each storm. In fact, even one thunderstorm requires massive amounts of energy-- approxomately the same amount needed to create several hydrogen bombs.
