Dante in DMC4 is something else. A lot of the youthful splendour and abilities of DMC3 have gone (some of the moves are nerfed), but others have developed to an even greater degree. Magnificent!

Dante has Nowhere near shows he can blow up a Planet????

I doubt he's a country buster at his most powerful, let alone a planet buster.

That said, area destruction feats aren't the only way to gauge power. Dante in his DDT is rather powerful.

If DMC2 was good for one thing its giving Dante a serious boost.

Casually beating Despair Embodied with a charged shot has to be his greatest feat in terms of power. [Despair > Mundas who could take on the full power of Sparda-form Dante. So Sparda-form Dante < Dante2's charged shot >_>]

IMHO DMC2 Dante could defeat the whole DMC verse, past characters and every other form of Dante and Vergil at the same time... well, most likely.

To be fair, he had to weaken the Despair to the point where it could be easily destroyed by that attack, much like in DMC3 when Vergil & Dante beat Arkham with Sparda's power. So I highly doubt that Dante2's charged shot > Sparda form Dante.
But yeah, it proves that DMC 2 Dante is at the very least => DMC1 Sparda Dante.

Also, DMC2 Dante against every other character in the DMC verse at the same time? Not if Sparda and the Despair were included.

..Ok was exagerating on the one shot, but he still seemed very casual in beating him/her/it. As I see it a casual base Dante2 > Max Sparda/form Dante by a noticeable margin. Mundas, Abigail and Despair were on near enough the same level (A<D/M) and Abigail was literally one-shotted with a single DT slash, (this would put him at or above Sparda's level by DMC4, the manual suggests this by saying some say he has surpassed Sparda's skill and power) with Despair being done in by a base Dante without much effort, he even toyed with him before the end.

Only threat would be the next two strongest below him; Dante4 and Sparda. But by 2 neither would be a problem.

The thing I find with Despair Embodied, He just dont seem that Powerful compare To somone like Mundus especially since Arius syphoned off a great amount of his power, and was then killed by Lucia whom I may add was Not as Powerful as Dante

Arius hardly got any of Argosax's power as the ritual failed, Despair didn't seem effected in the slightest. As a sign of how little power he got Lucia, who previously was equal to human Arius+summons, was able to smite him.

Despair ruled the underworld after Mundas did. This makes him at the very least just below Mundus for being above the likes of Abigail, who once rivaled Mundas.

How powerful was Abigail anyway? how was he rivaled Mundas in term of powers?
