And Nintendo is making a new Metroid game for the DS so maybe Ridley will make a new appearence.

Oh, wait. If you're referring to Metroid Dread, I'm not gonna believe anymore rumors about it that come to me until I see actual screen-shots of it. Same goes for all the rumors about whose going to be in Brawl. There's been too many of 'em lately. 😬

Well, he was in Metroid Prime Pinball for the DS (on the Artifact Temple stage of course), so I guess he could make a new appearance, but if this new Metroid game for the DS you speak of ends up being another game like Metroid Prime Hunters with an unacceptably short 1-player mode, then Ridley probably won't be in it. He's too cool an enemy to be part of a mediocre game like that. 😛

Yep about 89% of rumors are proved false, better not get our hopes up, until we have more facts same goes for Ridley in Brawl.

Metroid Prime 3 had this in the game, "Experiment status report update: Metroid project 'Dread' is nearing the final stages of completion" (scanning a panel within the Pirate Homeworld's "Metroid Processing" room) though Nintendo did say they weren't making a 2D Metroid game; but they never said anything about a 3D.

For example, there's a planet named Aether in Prime 2, and a Pirate Research Lab in the 1st Prime that's named Aether as well.

The 'project Dread' thing could not actually be connected to Metroid Dread itself.

I never would've guessed though that Zero Mission would end up being the last 2-D Metroid.

Whether Metroid Dread (or some other possible future Metroid game with a different title slapped on) turns out to be for the DS, Wii, or otherwise though, I can almost guarantee that the story of that game will be connected to the 100% ending of Prime 3, where Sylux's ship made a cameo appearance.

Of course, if this next game ends up being another true-blue Metroid title (with a good, quality single-player), Ridley will be in it regardless because he's, well... Ridley. He'll always be out there to get the Federation. Even after repeatedly withstanding the large explosions, extreme heat, and enormous kinetic energy to the spine following most of his battles with Samus? Alas, yes. 31

Can't have a metroid game without Ridley he is just as important as Samus.

Aside from all those vids though, something else just occurred to me.

If (I repeat, if) Ridley really isn't the last space dragon in the Metroid universe (which of course, they probably all kick ass), maybe Nintendo/Retro could come up with a game where you have to kill all the space dragons. It would be like Metroid II: Return of Samus for the original Game Boy, except rather than terminating all Metroids... it would be dragons.

Ridley of course, would be the sole survivor, like the Metroid hatchling that Samus spared, which ended up aiding her against the Mother Brain in Super Metroid.

Now that would be an awesome game. 31

I just thought if Bowsers final smash is to transform into Giga Bowser, I wounder if Ridley is playable then his final smash is the transformation into meta Ridley, sort of the opposite of Samus, he gains armor in a sense for his final smash, where she looses hers.
