So, uh, some really legit shit been upgraded this gen. Found out that Banette got access to Shadow Force, and so did Golurk. Wonderful move is wonderful. Physical Ghost move for dem attack stats. Mmm.I have yet to look at all the megas, still haven't tried any Mega Medicham, Heracross, Pinsir, and a few others.
But I've been looking into some new Pokemon and some of my old classics. I am pleased with potential that I see on lots of different creatures. Though my Primeape with Outrage still appears to be missing, and I can't remake my old Poke with the game's most powerful Hyper Beam since apparently the Gems haven't been re-released along with some other stuff. I also found some cool shit in Hitmonchan, Chesnaught, and a few more randoms here and there.
How do they learn them? Golurk is like my third favorite Ghost Pokemon.

Golurk learns it at level 75. Banette gets it through breeding from Drifblim, Trevenant, or Gourgiest.
Is Phantom Force good, though? It's a 2 turn move so I'm automatically wary. Sure, it hits through Protect, but it telegraphs exactly what you're doing and allows the opponent time to switch in a Normal type to block it. Mega Kangaskhan then Sucker Punches the unlife out of you.
Am I missing something?
EDIT CORRECTION: Golurk also has it as a starting move so it can be gotten from the Move Reminder at any time.

That's good to hear about Banette, who was on my eventually-to-use list as well.

It only exists at certain times of day after you've beaten the elite four and upgraded your mega ring. I think.

There's no really good way to deal with Shadow Force except switching into a Normal Type. So far, yeah, Mega Kangakhasan can destroy you. But Sucker Punch won't do it unless you're just starting it. So switching into Kangaskan nullifies your move, but at least it is relatively safe for you, too. Thankfully, I don't think there is any way to effectively wreck you for using Shadow Force.
And it's just far too good to pass up on Banette. That power is just what we need to finally take advantage of a good Attack stat on a ghost type. And Golurk is one of my all time favorites, so I'm using it.
First you have to fight your rival again in Kiloude City (he/she is hanging around somewhere at the top), then you'll be sent to speak to professor Sycamore in Anistar where that giant shiny crystal-like structure is at, and the rest will explain itself.
Btw, for anyone who still hasn't seen the Pokemon Origins special in its entirety.
