Izu smiled courteously at Reena and bowed.
"Why do you think I would do anything of the sort Ms. Byrd?
Yes, I used the gun to tranq Rori, he almost killed me. I would
think that an experiment such as me would be treated a little better
than having a wild animal sent to kill me. As for Avery, he did that all on his own.
Your experiments do have wills of their own Ms. Byrd. Though after what you
did to that boy, do you honestly expect him to not try to kill you?
Honestly. Now...." With this he pulled out a syringe, "I might just have to stop
you. You see, some people are trying to get ahead in life, and you will just
hinder them. So please, go rest with Avery." Izu ran at Byrd with the needle,
hoping to knock her out as well.

Good luck you guys...try and find that cure.

"Rori, he's not keeping up."

Dammit. Ain't the bloody birdie sober yet?

"Just get 'im ter find us the lark!"

"Um... Hey! Slow down a bi- Ow! Rori watch the door frame!
Mori! Uuh... We're... we're going to Disneyland! You have to find Rose!"

Thank goodness he remembered that.

Disneyland....

It was where the twin had always wanted to go. Maybe, if they were
lucky, Mori would be able to keep up.

"Disneyland, eh? 'ow's that garn ter make...."

Mori was off running down the hall.

Another gun went off, sending a dart whizzing past Izu's cheek.

"The next won't miss, Izu"

Rose saw the procession running down the hall and followed.
Somewhere in his mind he knew what they were running for,
why they had to leave now.
"Where's the plague?" Rose kept pace with Rori, not looking at any of them.

Avery was being unceremoniously dumped back in his room.
While being carried back the guard was, literally,
run over by a very drunk but determined Mori.
"Move mister guard! I hafta go to dishnyland!" Avery had fallen to the floor
and lay prone, his hair streaming about his head like flames.
Without a word or reason Rose deftly lifted Avery on to his shoulder
and took back off, running behind Rori.
Mori grabbed Rose's hand, their tattoos lining up almost perfectly.
Rose had stopped crying, and the tears still stained his cheeks.
"We need to move....now!"

Izu felt his numb bleeding cheek.
that witch, with her obedient slave Lark he thought, before dropping
the syringe.
"What would you do with my research?"

"Left! Left! There's a 'anger ter the left!
An' don't let the bloody drunk try an' man the jet!"

"Hey, Rori, does anyone here even know how to fly?"

"Dammit..."

Rori knew what the only other alternative was... A car...
He hated the confined quarters combined with movement, but
if it was their only other option...

"Ki, can you drive?"

"Uh... I have no legs right now..."

Rose finally chimed in, "I can drive...I think. Take Avery in the back with you,
Mori will stay up front with me." He adjusted the seat and mirrors and started
the car. Once everyone was inside he put the car in gear and just went.
He didn't know where to go, but he knew fast was always a good idea.
Avery was beginning to wake up and he panicked for a second. Realizing he wasn't
in Byrd's clutches he opened his eyes slightly, trying to figure out where he was.
Once he could see who he was leaning against, he immediately calmed down
and snuggled up to him, before freaking out once again.
"You! You made me like this! How Could YOU!?" He was starting to turn ghastly
pale, his medication wearing off.
"Why couldn't you just tell her!? You cursed me!" He looked up in to yellow eyes.

"Uh... I think I'm going to be sick...."

By his ability to suddenly feel his legs, Shiki could tell that
Izu's medication was wearing off. It was probably just a matter
of minutes until it was all gone. Just keep his eyes shut... That
was his only option.

"'ow could I? 'ow could I?!?!? Why the bloody 'ell do ya think
I didn't? An' I didn't bloody make ya loike that! I tried ter protect
ya from becomin' loike this, that's why I sold my soul ter that witch!
So if you can't appreciate that, SHADDUP!"

Pushing the other away, Rori could feel a light headache coming
on, but he didn't attribute it to Avery. After all, the other had
overdosed himself meaning he could probably couldn't plague right now.

Black goo was starting to drip from Avery's tear ducts as he glared
at his best friend.
"Don't tell me to shut up!!! I can't even get close
to another person without killing
them!!! You shouldn't have tried to protect me in the first place!!!
I have no chance of being free! Don't you get it?!
What are you going to do when I'm hurt?
When I'm angry!? I kill people! That's all I'm good at!" The goo
spilled down his cheeks like black tears.
"That's all I can do!"

"If ya didn't have such a bloody temper you
could pass as 'uman! Every bleedin' time ya let your emotions
get outta control you end up killin' ever' person in sight! You're
a freakin' girl with ya mood swings!"

He refused to meet Avery's glare, instead looking out the window.

"You might be cursed, but I'm not even 'uman anymore. I'm a
bloody animal! I panic and the first thing that comes ter mind is ta
rip someone's bloody throat out!"

"Maybe if I was a girl you would actually pay attention to me!! Why won't you
even look at me you b@stard! I can never pass as normal!
I need to get out of this freaking car!!! Just let me go back!
I need to get away from everyone!
I hate you!"
Avery was beginning to really get sick, his nails as well as his hair
were turning black, and he was starting to get the other car members sick.
Mori had by now passed out, black ooze coming out of his nose and mouth.
"DO SOMETHING!" Rose yelled back, still trying to drive as he was becoming
sicker.
"I HATE YOU RORI!!" Avery screeched.
I LOVE YOU! was what he wanted to say.
I love you! I dont care what you did, I love you

"Avvie! Calm down!"

Shiki was out, so was the bird...

He had to find a way of making Avery stop before everyone was dead.

Do something... Do something....
What will stop 'im? What will stop Avery?
Oh bloody 'ell! Anything but that!

Grabbing Avery's head in hope, Rori pulled his friend towards him.
Taking a deep breath and glaring right back at the other, Rori
pressed his lips to Avery's in a kiss.

Avery immediately became unplagued.
All his hatred about what Rori had done didn't matter anymore.
What mattered to Avery now were the hot lips pressed against his.
He pulled Rori in for a deeper kiss, rubbing the spot below his skull.
Avery was trying his best to turn it in to a make out session,
his other hand scratching at his back.
He didn't care what everyone else thought, he was in love with Rori.
He didn't really understand how he could like him, but it happened so quick.
"Great....now theyre going at it." Quipped Rose, who was feeling much better.

"Umph!"

Rori had entered full on panic mode and no amount of scratching or
petting was going to make him calm down. What the Hell did Avery think
he was doing? Hadn't Rori made it clear to his friend that he didn't go
for guys. His head now trapped in his friend's embrace, he assumed not.

Squirming about and trying to gently remove himself was getting him
nowhere, and while he didn't want to resort to using brute force it
appeared to be his only option. Pushing the other boy away, Rori
winced as he felt some of his hair being ripped from his skull. But
pain meant nothing. Avery had just embarrassed him, practically
assaulted him! Wiping his mouth on the back of his hand, Rori sent
a golden glare at the other boy. There was only one person he'd allow
to treat him like that and it wasn't Avery.

"I didn't kiss you 'cause I return your feelings. I did it to stop ya
from killin' every person in this car. So don't get the bloody wrong
impression, and you bloody well better not tell Kin."

Avery glared at Rori. He knew that the kiss meant nothing to him but
he had hoped that there was a little something in there that was real.
"What does she have that I don't? She doesn't give a crap about you, I do!"
Avery curled up on his seat, returning to his icy glare. "I shouldn't
really have expected anything more from an animal than this." He said,
looking out the window at the fleeting city.
"Have Kirin, I hope you two are happy together, until you get angry. How
will it feel then, ripping her throat out? She can't negate your powers.
You're going to kill her one day Rori, I just hope you make it to my
funeral first."

"Ya bloody b@stard! You're not 'appy so you 'ave
ter make someone else just as miserable. I don't even know why I
even try bein' your friend... You're always so worried about
yourself - your looks, your social life, your relationships ter actually
think about someone else's feelings."

Avery was just being selfish, but Rori really had no reason to explode
like that. It was just, just that he hated being in the car... Elliot had
taken him out to hunt someone once, and for the entire trip he had
be sick to his stomach.

"'ey, birdie, know where your going?"

Just ignore Avery for now. Maybe with time things would cool down
between the two of them.

Avery cried silently as he watched out the window.
Yes he'd been selfish, but Rori was messing unjustly with his emotions.
He said he wanted to be friends, then he kissed him, then he said
he wanted to be with Kirin.
Well...he wanted to be with Rori, and he was going to give him a headache.
Avery let his emotions run over him, feeling the plague seep from his pores.
He knew the twins were immune, and Shiki was wrapped up in the blanket.
His gums started to turn black, and his eyes glassed over. He wasn't going to
even try and stop it.

"Um....Colorado....starts with C. The freeway said we're going to Canada,
which also starts with a C. All the places with C are placed geographically
close together, so I figure once we hit Canada we can go to Colorado.
CA and CO aren't that far apart in the alphabet, so it won't take too
long. Though the car says we're in E, so I'm kinda confused." Rose didn't really
understand how the world works.

"Colorado? Why the 'ell are we goin' ter
Colorado? And the bloomin' world doesn't work that way, bird.
Canada's a different country. See that box right there? Yeah, that one.
Las time I was out, Elliot poked it a bunch of times and it gave 'im
directions on 'ow ter get ter where 'e wanted. 'ows about we pull over under that tree and try it."

The world was spinning. Being in a car was really doing nothing for Rori.
He could practically feel his head pounding and his stomach reeling.
He had to get out for just a bit... Maybe when they stopped he could
chance a short walk...

"'ey, I'm goin' ter be right back... Need ter clear my head...."

Opening the door, Rori fell flat on his face in the dirt.

Avery immediately stopped his plague and
rushed to make sure Rori wasn't dead.
"Rori!" Avery rolled him over and attempted
to give him mouth-to-mouth, which ended with
him kind of kissing Rori.
Rose was busy futzing around with the GPS,
and so far had gotten Colorado to come up, but
he didn't know where in Colorado he was supposed to go.
"Shiki...Where's your sister?" He hoped the twin was awake.
"Wake up Rori!" Avery cut himself, hoping the scent
of blood would wake his friend up.

"Mmmmm... Not wright now, Rose... Sleep....."

Shiki was ignoring everything and trying to fall back into a nice warm
place... Dreamland was calling, and who was he to say no to it...
Sleep was so nice... Why couldn't people just shut up?

Eyes snapping open, Rori found himself in yet another compromising
situation with Avery. Only thins time he didn't know how it happened.

"Umph! Get off! Get off! Stop molestin' me, pervert!"

It was turning into an all out fight outside of the car, with Avery and
Rori stirring up a bunch of dirt. Rori technically had the upper hand,
being both heavier and stronger than his companion, but he didn't
want to risk Avery killing everyone else.

"And that's not 'ow you do bloody resuscitation! So stop kissin' me!
I don't see ya that way! An' no matter 'ow many times you try, I won't!"

Avery jumped back, surprised. He didn't know how to resuscitate someone
and he had tried his best. Crouching down, with one hand on the ground he
growled at Rori. He hoped if he could best him in a fight Rori would
give in. All the books and plays he had read said to keep trying
and eventually you'll get the girl....or in this case the guy.
"I'm not giving up! Must I quote Shakespeare to you?!" Avery was far too
stubborn for his own good.
Rose silently made sure all the windows and doors in the car were closed then
tried to wake Shiki again.
"Cmon, you know where she is. Do you want to find her or not Shii? Look, I'm
sorry about what I did. I just....I wanted Mori to be safe. I know it's not
a good reason but you hafta understand!" Rose thought that Shiki was just
hiding from him.
Avery bared his teeth, hoping to incite Rori in to a fight, his wrist
still dripping crimson liquid.
