I was something like we tried every thing to kill him, we burned him, we shot him, we even decapitated him. It was also implied to be more thne once.

funny thing was when spiderman said that was out of the blue.

The issue in which Logan was stated to had been decapitated was stated by the author. The issue was all about Logans time in the concentration camp.

It's not a matter of taking someone's word over another. The people keeping Wolverine in containment actually DID try to kill him using a varitey of ways, decapitation included.
