So your interpretation of events is that in a park full of trees and foliage Wolverine, what, sits on a bench while Namor "goes and gets a big rock"? And then he lays down and lets Namor place said rock on top of him? Right... Do you need me to pick you up from kindergarten after your nap and colouring time or is your mom going to do it?

Wolverine can tag him because Namor is a melee brick with no inherent range capabilities largely limited to melee conflict resolution. What the trees do, is provide cover and hiding places, which means Namor can't "smash him with a big rock," unless Wolverine stands out in the open and decides it would be beneficial for him to let it happen... which is unlikely.

Exactly. For all his supposed strength, his durability is suspect. Hell, Colossus would do better vs Wolverine than Namor.

He's gonna have to close in sooner or later, how's he gonna win at distance? Fling stuff at Wolverine, who'll just dodge it? Even if hit by whatever Namor throws, his bones won't break and his healing factor will repair any damage.
