And those fights that your posted are where you think Namor is at as far as terrms of power...and that is why you are so sorely mistaken. Namor should win fights with ridiculous ease against the likes of character like Spider-Man, Logan, etc based on physical stats alone...nevermind his incredible assortment of good performances against marvels ELITE 100+ class characters throughout his long history.
Lol no you think these extremely low end showings are an accurate representation of what namor is capable of and you're dead wrong, point blank period. You think I haven't seen any appearance you could post and/or mention and much much more? Lol Spider-Man should not be able to hurt namor at all much less pose any legitimate threat based on his physical stats. Logan can cut namor but you fail to realize that he has very good regenerative ability and that his speed rivals, if not surpasses Spider-Man and Logan alike. Not to mention that he consistently has been shown the ability to physical slug it out with characters(Thor, hulk) that are so durable that Logans claws barely penetrate their skin. this is what these writers do when they try to make a match out of match ups that should be clear cut one way. Oh, yeah he greatly overmatches them in strength, durability, etc but their speed...oh wait...namor has superhuman speed feats that match any of theirs so....umm pis/popular character jobbing to the extreme much? Yeah. If you knew what you're were talking about you wouldn't think these fights were something to post like that truly shows what this character has to offer in a contest vs a low meta

They don't make them like this anymore. 😂
Back when comics used soap operas for source material, instead of... whatever they use now.
That's cute.....but no, not "high showings"...rather showings that accurately portray him at his norm at the very least. Namor been slugging it out with Thor, hulk, surfer, Hercules, since the silver age onward. What we have here is a gross misunderstanding based purely on a few low end showings and what you have seen posted recently in this thread. You should really at least take a trip to the respect forum and and memorize all 80 something pages to gain a little insight beyond his matches with Logan/spidey and what you see here. Maybe you'll come to realize why 216 wise voters chose to defy 62 misguided kmc posters. Then you'll understand why the margin is so large.

None other than Darkcrawler made that list. Namor is closer to Thing than he is to Thor or Hercules. Herc has overpowered a force under water that Namor couldn't and Namor accepted that he's stronger. If someone can produce scans from these issues, it'd good.

Here's scans of every Namor vs Thor/Herc encounter I put together on Herochat a few years back (split into two parts due to word count):
Avengers vol 1 #3http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Avengers003f.jpg
http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Avengers003g.jpgNamor and Hulk wrestle Thor down in an attempt to prise Mjolnir from his grasp. Namor apparently grapples with Thor alone for a short time before he is tackled down by Giant Man.
Who looks stronger?
Thor comes off a bit better here, as it took Namor + Hulk to make Thor release Mjolnir.
Factors to consider
Namor is on dry land and has been for quite a few pages. He notes himself that his strength is fading on the second page.
Avengers vol 1 #40 (fight 1)
http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Guest%20apps/Battles/Avengers040a.jpg
http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Guest%20apps/Battles/avengers040b-1.jpgHercules has a brief scuffle with Namor that ends when Namor is thrown into the sea, an opportunity he uses to recharge his strength.
Who looks stronger?
Hercules, without much doubt.
Factors to consider?
Namor is on land and again notes that his strength is dwindling and he needs to recharge in the water to match Herc.
Avengers vol 1 #40 (fight 2)
http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Guest%20apps/Battles/avengers040c-1.jpg
http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Guest%20apps/Battles/avengers040d-1.jpg
http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Guest%20apps/Battles/avengers040e-1.jpgThe two fight on land, then in water, then on land but with Namor altered by the Cosmic Cube so that he does not dehydrate.
Who looks stronger?
Herc is shown as stronger on land, Namor admits as much. Namor is shown as stronger in the water, Hercules admits as much. When they fight on land but with Namor at full strength the two are apparently dead even.
Factors to consider
This writer apparently believed fighting underwater would weaken Hercules.
Namor is in possession of the Cosmic Cube here, but is explicitly not using it to amp his physicals (until he makes it so he does not dehydrate on land) as he wants to test himself against Hercules.
Sub-Mariner vol 1 #29

http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Sub-Mariner29c.jpgA mind-controlled Namor fights Hercules on land until Namor shakes the mental control.
Who looks stronger?
Hercules by a bit. He catches Namor's punch. He also claims he is the stronger, and Namor seems to tacitly conceed the point.
Factors to consider
Namor is mind-controlled and fighting on land. The mind-control seems to be more of a blood-lust effect than anything though so not much of an issue.
Invaders vol 1 #33
http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Namor%20titles/Battles/Invaders33a.jpg
http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Namor%20titles/Battles/Invaders33b.jpg
http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Namor%20titles/Battles/Invaders33c.jpgThor fights Namor in the rain.
Who looks stronger?
Thor, definitely, though the actual physical exchange is very brief and Namor is relatively unharmed.
Factors to consider
Namor notes that, despite the rain, he has been out of the sea for too long to be at full strength. To back this up, Thor notes that Namor's physical prowess seems to be increasing the longer he spends in the rain.
The rate of Namor's recharging varies from story to story, though there is at least one instance I can recall that has Namor needing salt water to be at peak strength.
Sub-Mariner vol 1 #59

http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Namor%20titles/Battles/Sub-Mariner59f.jpgThor fights Namor first on land, then in a heavily polluted river.
Who looks stronger?
Thor, definitely.
Factors to consider
Namor notes he is dehydrated and needs water. He then dives into a river that is heavily polluted, so much so that Namor can barely see or breathe. So rather than making Namor stronger, this would actually weaken him further (as evidenced multiple times throughout his continuity).
Avengers vol 1 #262

http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Guest%20apps/Battles/Avengers262d.jpgHercules fights Namor on a beach.
Who looks stronger?
They look very much dead even before the fight is interrupted.
Factors to consider
None really. On a beach is pretty perfect conditions to get a fair fight; Namor is hydrated, but Hercules isn't underwater.
Cheers.
Avengers vol 1 #263
http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Avengers263a.jpg
The one that seems to stick in most people's minds. Hercules is able to advance against a force that Namor cannot, despite being underwater.
Who looks stronger?
Hercules, clearly. Namor admits to being humbled.
Factors to consider
The water they were in was right next to JFK Airport and was earlier drawn as full of floating debris. It was also described as being surprisingly murky. However, the author made no direct association with that and Namor's performance, so it is extremely likely that he simply believed Herc was the stronger of the two.
Avengers vol 1 #265
http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Avengers265a.jpg
http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Avengers265b.jpgHercules breaks free of a hurricane that Namor was unable to.
Who looks stronger?
You could argue Hercules, but it's a fairly flimsy argument IMHO....
Factors to consider
It's on land, so Namor isn't wet. Also, Namor never actually tried the tactic Hercules used. Herc only tried it at the suggestion of the Black Knight.
Namor The Sub-Mariner #58

http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Namor%20titles/Battles/NamorTheSub-Mariner58f.jpgNamor vs the Avengers (including Hercules) underwater. Namor initially takes a beating as the Avengers gang up on him, but when it becomes a one-on-one with Hercules he gets the better of it.
Who looks stronger?
Namor. He claims the two are evenly matched on land, but underwater he is stronger than Herc. Hercules seems to concede the point with his dialogue.
Factors to consider
The earlier Avengers fight suggested that Hercules was weaker than normal underwater. However, no mention of that is made here, and Herc was specially prepped for underwater combat so it seems unlikely the author intended it to be a factor.
Atlantis Rising #1

http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Namor%20titles/Battles/AtlantisRising01f.jpgA mind-controlled Thor fights Namor in the skies above the ocean.
Who looks stronger?
In the air, Thor seemed solidly more powerful. When the fight went underwater though, Namor seemed definitively more physically impressive.
Factors to consider
Thor is mind-controlled, though as with the earlier Namor instance, it seems to be more of a blood-lusting effect than something that would negatively effect Thor's performance.
Incredible Hercules #122

http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp92/clokeagne_supernova/Namor%20Respect/Guest%20apps/Battles/IncredibleHercules122d.jpgBrief scuffle between Namor and Hercules.
Who looks stronger?
Neither. Namor seems to think he is stronger than Herc underwater, but the fight is interrupted before we find out if he is right or not.
Factors to consider
None.
As far as I am aware that is all of the instances Namor has come into direct comparison with either Thor or Hercules.

Cool scans. I agree with all your interpretations except Atlantis Rising #1. When the fight got underwater, Namor seemed more agile/faster but not physically dominating in the same way Thor was when he brought the fight underwater and then out again. Just mo anyways.
Wolverine doesn't not have the strength to push his claws into namor skin. Same with hulk or Thor the adamen cant just cut threw super hard substances like butter. You have to have the physical force to push it threw too. He will scratch up namor good deeper then he would hulk or Thor but no hes not gutting him. You people level of fanboyness is retarded. You people say the stupidest shit out of fanboy love like lil teen b@tches at a twilight movie. Spiderman beating namor in a none pis fight, wtf I need wat ever you people are smoking.

Wolverine has put his claws clean through Namor and out the other side on at least two separate occasions with single stabs so I don't think it requires much fanboyism to argue he can do serious damage.
In the last two years or so, Logan has also put his claws clean through Gladiator's arm and, most impressively, stabbed straight down through the Hulk's skull and into his brain with a single stab.
Does it make sense? No, not really, but that is the way it is portrayed in the comics and ever-increasingly so so what can you do but accept it?
Cheers.
