It was great, but let's keep it to old Jacky.

That is not Jack Sparrow's accent. Both had types of English accents so of course there would be some similarity. But I like the Pirates movies...well most of em too and I didn't even think of Jack Sparrow

I thought it was similar to Jack's voice, but I mean, you can't be the same guy doing the same kind of accent and not sound different. Plus I think the characters' personalities and gestures are dramatically different, so it's not like Johnny is just reusing things he's already done.

I didn't think he sounded that much like Jack at all. Sweeney was clearly sober most of the time. Jack sounded wasted all of the time, lol

All I know..is that while I was watching Sweeney Todd...not once did I think about Jack Sparrow......

I thought Johnny was fabulous.....

but you know what's so funny about that.......people say "oh he sounds like Jack Sparrow"...well, for heaven's sake....both are played by Johnny Depp so they are bound to sound somewhat alike...but like Willo said...the mannerisms and the entire character's demeanor totally opposite of Jack Sparrow......

I definitely agree lovethemtigers. I never once thought of Jack Sparrow.

One of the best things about Johnny Depp is that he can completely become his characters and when he becomes Jack, it's waaayyyy different than when he becomes Todd. I've heard people comparing his performance to that of Edward Scissorhands, and I think those are completely different, too. Some people just can't appreciate a nuanced performance.

Heh, the guys in front of me and my buddy got up at the first song and walked out... They didn't know Sweeny ****ing Todd was a musical... lolz

The guy behind us was much more annoying. He kept ad-libbing lyrics about how much the movie sucked. At the end, me and my friend got up and, in very loud voices, asked each other who the loser ad-libbing lyrics was, and what kind of pathetic human being doesn't know to shut the hell up during a movie. Then we pretended to look around the theatre and try to find him knowing full well that the guy who was doing it was sitting two feet from us but didn't stick up for himself.

He just sat there trying to look innocent.

great film, blood looked like carrot juice

There were two people who came with me when I watched it who kept giggling because they were imagining Johnny a Jack and Alan Rickman as Snape. Especially when he went "Mr. Todd" one of them said really loudly "Mr. Potter."

The Jack and Snape shit surely must get old. I am so glad no one near me at any of the three showings I attended did that

I liked this movie. I didn't love it, but I sure did like it a lot.

The atmosphere......... it was amazing. Made me wish I could go to a London like that.

YES! Sweeney won two Golden Globes!! Johnny got one for Best Actor and Sweeney won for Best Musical or Comedy

You beat me to it, Selina! I was very happy to see both of those. They were really deserved. I only wish Tim Burton had gotten the directing award. Does anyone know if he's gotten one before?

I'm unsure but I was kind of upset he didn't get the directing award. And that Helena didn't win but she was a long shot anyway.

What was everyone's favorite scene?

Mine was the little daydream-like sequence with Depp and Carter.

I dig the song called "Johanna". Where, in the movie, Depp is in a throat slitting montage and Bower is running around looking for Johanna.

Hard to pick. I have the soundtrack so many of the songs are my faves. However just to be different I will say My Friends and Pretty Women. Those two were stunning and Tim Burton's choice on how to shoot it was brilliant

johnny Depp is a versatile actor, it was proven from all the movies he got.

Funny, but this film reminds me of Edward Scissorhands.

The worst for me was Alan Rickman. Whenever I saw him my mind kept on going SNAPE! SNAPE! SNAPE!
