No matter. Cel-shaded graphics have always been inferior to rendered ones.
I respect your opinion, but I disagree and Here's why:
I like them both, it just depends on how you use them. Cel-shaded would Street Fighter perfectly IMO.
that vid of burst limit was really a pleasant surprise... the trailers dont do the game justice at all.. damn
hope it has network battle..
as for them not trying anything new with SFIV...my sentiments exactly.. but I think trying something new is a financial gamble that capcom doesn't feel like taking at this point in time
I was playing 3rd Strike just now and the most retarded thing happened.
Ken's Shippu Jinrai Kyaku happened right after his opponent was knocked out. What a waste.

Graphics, generally, are deemed how "good" they are by how "realistic" they make the game look.
Originally posted by SaTsuJiNYeah, but it's got TONS of extra content and the missing fames aren't that bad. Jo Jo on the DC was just a fightin game but PS version was more. It literally took me like 40hrs to earn and complete everything in that game.
how so?.. it has frames missing from the arcade release
Originally posted by Classic NESIt looks good and fun, but I know Capcom is gonna do somethin to screw it up, look at CFJ. I mean it has a good chance at bein good.
Me too. 🙁
I always hope for the best and expect the worst.
I just expected more after all these years of ceaseless waiting to be honest. I was expecting a full fledged sequel with a large amount of new characters and some returning ones, new content, and what not. Instead, I get a 3-D remake of SFII with some new characters. It's a really lazy desing approach in my opinion, instead of taking a risk and trying something new. They make a quick grab for cash with a 3-D SFII remake. Might as well call the game SF2.5 or Ultra Street Fighter II. I mean it's not like we don't get to see Street Fighter 2 characters too often, with all those remakes and all. Hell, we have SFII HD coming out soon. They don't even try to change them up, the same characters litterally have the same moves right down to their normals and Mechanics from SFII?
The only difference are Ultra's which are long combinations of old Super arts.
Further more the game has a terrible design E.G. Art and Sound. It's so poor in many ways. The sound is just plain disgusting, I mean what the hell? Who made the tracks for this game, it's not what I expected from Street Fighter which has some of the best music in video games. Everything from: The lame Announcer, to the lack of proper English voices [like in Street Fighter III or Capcom Vs SNK], to the BGM pisses me off. I really expected something slamming, but was I wrong. Level designs are too random, China and Las Vega look pretty good. But, I've seen better levels in KOF: MI to be honest. I hate the fact that there are so many returning characters, especially with this game being called Street Fighter 4.

But, that's the thing. The development team specifically stated that they were not going for an ultra realistic look for Street Fighter. Which is why I'm puzzled about them choosing full rendered graphics. Even the trailer didn't have rendered graphics.

i've been saying that since day one. the moment i saw the gameplay. same moves, same characters....just better looking. the same thing i've been complaining about since super street fighter. we don't want the same game better looking, jackasses, we want a NEW game.
Agree'd, the teasers and trailers were so B.S. They made it seem that the game would look like this:
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/31612.html
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/26655.html
Boy were we duped, nevermind the game being super rushed. In late the december the game was less then 10% complete. Yet in late Feburary it's 50-60% complete?!

capcom and their lazyasses.
also the new characters look crap honestly. Crimson viper looks insipried from vanessa to be honest and abel just looks bad. no other way to put it.
She reminds me of Cammy fused with Vennesa. Alot, of people were commenting on this. Abel looks okay, but the game he's in does not do him justice. I've lost all intrest in the game to be honest.
Hmm.. well lets get theoretical... what do you think would be the next logical step after 3rd strike's gameplay?

I didn't like Third Strikes Game play, even though I liked the game. Was hoping for a more ST/SFZ2 type engine. Bring back Alpha counters as well, but add a twist I suppose. Make a variable meter like SFZ2 or GGXX. Here are some of my idea's:
-Bring back limited Target Combo's like in Third strike, but make them viable in the air as well
-Super Cancel
-Alpha Counters
-A Gaurd meter of Some sort with a mechanic attached to it.
-Try inserting Running instead of dashes
-Fix the grapplers, please!
Here are some more implements, I figured we could have an ism type mode consisting of Three Modes:
Royal Guard Mode
Features:
-Longer Guard Meter
-Iron Mode
-Alpha Counters
Mechanics Revolve around The Guard Meter in this mode.
Guard Meter
-Alpha Counters [The more you use it, the shorter you guard meter gets and the less damage they take.]
-Iron Mode [Sort of like armor mode and can be used only when the Guard Meter is full. You take less damage and damage scales faster. Also, normals take no chip damage, only specials or supers do.]
Solid Stance [You can cancel Iron Mode into a blocking mode that last or the remain time you had in Iron Mode. You remain in Blocking Mode and cannot attack. Plus you take no Chip Damage at all nor can you be Thrown. You also gain life back, but you can be hurt. So, you must alternate between High and Low's and you take alot of extra damage if hit. But, you can use A sort of Super Alpha Counter called Revenge Counter]
Revenge Counter- Sort of like Ultra's, but can only be used during Solid Stance. The more hit's you take, the more hit's you return.
Champion Mode
Features:
-Longer Super Meter
-Ultra Combo's
-Focus Mode
-Ex Moves
-Super Cancel
Super Meter
-Focus mode [ Sort of like Rage gauge, you take more damage and give more damage. Also, this mode can be cancelled into Ultra's]
-Ultra Combo [Can only be used in Focus Mode]
-Super Cancel
-Ex moves

You also have to remember that Street Fighter was originally a cartoon. Making the jump from 2D framesets to 3D renders was already foreign territory, obviously they're not going to push it too far.
After takin some time to think about it…I feel where Capcom is comin from wit this “SFIV” thing.
It’s been damn near a decade since the last NEW SF. It would be a huge mistake to come out wit a completely new game and call it a SF. They usin the old Alpha 3 formula, take everyone from SFII, add some new stages, characters, music, graphics, and fighting system. If they make this SFIV and only have like 3 to 4 returnin characters, and change EVERYTHING about it like everyone seems to want, nobody is gonna buy it, except the hard core fans. Unfortunately, the games not gonna sell, cuz the main stream is gonna turn the game on and realize that nothing in this SF reminds them of anything. The guys who worked on SF want you to like the characters and the game not just the game, I don’t see any other FG character wit a damn “Crank Dat Dance”. True enough from what I’ve seen this game doesn’t deserve to be called SFIV, more like 2.5, but it’s a start. It would be dumb to come off a long ass break wit a totally new game and expect it to sell like the old one, didn’t work for Alpha, surely didn’t work for III, and it aint gonna work for this. They wanna get peeps back into the SF mood, then drastically start changin shit about the series again, once er body realizes that SF is back on the map.
I’m expectin the worse but this game aint done yet. Plus I wanna know why the SFII characters wasn’t in III, who won the SFII tourney, and if Bison was really killed, what better way to do that then to make a 2.5? If this game sells there’s no doubt in my mind that they will make the necessary changes to bump up the number at the end of the tittle when it comes time for SF5. As long as this game plays good, I’ll be content.
And remember sign the f***in Project Justice Petition!
I agree with you, Sado. Chun Li is the only Street Fighter that wore two different outfits over the years.

so it goes back to what emp said: why lowblow the fans like that when both fans and capcom know they can do better? and its not like putting in new stages is what we're cribbing about. the gameplay looks lacklustre, the music sucks, the new system they've got doesnt' sound too groundbreaking and the characters look.........shit. i'm sorry but they look horrible. big head, big arms, big legs, big feet and small bodies. oh and the new characters look lame. crimson viper is practically Vanessa with bigger **** and a larger ass.
what it all comes down to is just that: lack of effort.
the simple undenible fact remains that capcom is lazy and don't put in effort unless they really have to. or have to revive a series and need to milk it. case in point, Devil may cry series. one was good, so they got lazy and made 2 which sucked balls. the only reason 3 was any good was cuz they needed to work on it. the same thing was there in SFA. alpha1 sucked so they worked hard on 2 and 3 to save it.
one wont complain so much if they were some underbudget company who need to pay off some loans or need to rush things up or have to really save themselves from going backrupt.
