I played this guy on ranked match and I pretty much pawned him. He was using Guile and he was turtling while every now and then he went on the ofense. I beat him fair and square and he called me a turtling shoto and that I'm boring and asked me to make a lobby so we have a rematch to show me how my "lame" tactic was not going to work again.
So I invite him and we play again. He chose El Fuerte and I whooped him. We played over 8 matches and in the first 4 I only used Ryu to annoy him and prove he couldn't beat my "noobie" Ryu. After getting another message of him complaining about shotos I switch to Bison and he uses Guile. I lose, fair enough. We get another match and I use Cammy and rape him. The same happens when I choose Ken, Sakura and Dan.
He left pissed off and told me I am a cheap player who turtles(eventhough I don't really trutle. I suppose zoning, blocking and rushing every now and then is turtling biscuits) Apparentely I'm also a boring loser IRL who is a coward and doesn't know how to play fighting games.

Biscuits I like Ranked because people usually just ready themselves instead of taking over 10 minutes and or boot me because I have Ryu's icons. Though overall player match is better since people don't get boners over their battle points and you don't have to search for a new match once a match ends.

I've also personally found many more skillfully diverse players in Player matches than in Ranked. In ranked matches it seems you always just play against the same characters - Ken, Sagat, Gief, Ryu, Blanka and occasionally Akuma and Balrog. Where in player matches I run across people who main Rose, Sakura, Fuerta, Fei Long, Cammy, Vega, Honda and everyone else, it's just a lot more fun. The people I come across in ranked matches tend not to be good, even when they have a lot of BP's, they just cheese their way to the win no matter what.
And like you say, not having to look for a new match after every win/loss is very nice in player matches. It's just so much fun to find a good, cool player and just sit there and play 20 matches with them, really replicates the arcade experience where you'd just fight the same guy over and over, the strategy becomes deeper because you end up trying to figure out strategies just for that one guy. It's a lot of fun.
