Sagat is one of the easiest characters to beat because he likes to throw alot of tiger shots, so you just drop kick and sweep him to you win.
any sagat player with half a brain is just gonna forward roundhouse you twice into ultra for doing that.. you have to play it alot more carefully than that.. like perhaps a focus advance mixed with ex hadou's to get through the tiger barrier.. even daigo's ryu had a hard time getting close to a well played sagat

Yeah Sagat is tough. What I usually do is engage in short fireball wars when he has no ex, and if he has one hopefully bait him(risky though because it comes out uberly fast) I have managed to catch a few of them with Ryu's ultra with the proper spacing, but then again you don't pull it off effectively you're pretty much dead. Problem with Sagat is that besides his speed he is pretty dominant in every other department. Oh yeah and apparentely Ryu has a glitch that allows him to crossover Sagat when he is standing up with 2 dashes. Quite convenient.

When I see someone choosing Sagat I just cheap them to death with Blanka by using his crossover backflip roll. Usually can get at least 2 or 3 of those things to connect before they realize what I'm doing and move out of range. Still, by then that's usually enough to win.

I hate playing cheap like that but I get hard by beating shitty Sagats who play him just for easy wins (which is about 99% of all Sagats).

it takes forever to find someone on xbox live to play against. also if i had a PS3 id definintly would have gotten street fighter IV on the PS3 cause the controls on the 360 suck big time. on mortal kombat vs DC the controls are ok on the 360

Wait for'im to do a Tiger, jump over it and BEAT THE SHIT OUTTA'IM! Works on any difficulty, you can do it, it's easy, man

😂
Everytime i try to jump over him he does that sonic uppercut. I can't get anything on him. It's so pathetic. I'll get it one day, hopefully. I think i really need to get this for the PS3 though. I serisouly can't stand playing with the analog stick.

You gotta wait til' he does the Tiger. You gotta almost predict the Tigers (which is easy when the cpu is usin'im.) Jump at'im and start kickin'' his ass 'til he hits the ground. He can't do 2 attacks at once. Do it again.

I would go into detail about Focus attacks and cancels but seein' as how your stuck at Sagat, you prolly don't have what it takes to pull off anything spectacular. So just jump kick then trip. The 360 ver. has better graphics but the PS3 has the better controller by far. Unless you break down like I did and buy the controller.

I believe in you!

I was talking about playing the AI, but yeah I agree Sagat in the hands of a skilled human player is vicious.

😂 I appreciate your belief in me. I finally rocked sagat. I've beaten it with Ryu and Abel now. I think Abel is now my favorite. What do you mean by focus attacks? I can't do anyones ultra move. I can only seem to pull of ryu's supermove consistently. I have a big goddamn problem pulling off everyones moves when i want to. It only seems like i can pull them off 70% of the time. The other times the controls just don't respond for me. I'll be trying to pull off a special move and i'll end up jumping all over the screen 😂

Also, the command list really drives me fukin nuts. I can't read or decipher half of the moves. I had to figure out Abel and Blankas combos on my own. It just really sucks when you know how to do the players combos and moves but you can't pull them off because the controller doesnt respond to your commands. Do you have to press three buttons at once to do the Ultra moves?

Yes, but you can just press lb. LB = 3punches. LT = 3kicks.

See? I told you, you could do it.

You should really read the game manual about Focus Attacks, unless you don't plan on fightin' actual humans in you life, then you prolly wont need to use'em. They are still essential if you wanna be good.

Ultra's are easy. You say you can only do Ryu's super, then you should just switch a convenient button to LK+MK+HK or, in Ryu's case, LP+MP+HP. Once you do that, Ultras should be easy. Do the same thing you would do for Ryu's super but only wit that button.

When you say the command list drives you nuts, is it cuz you can't see it or cuz you can't understand it? 😂

aww right on man. Thanks for the input there. I got the game from gamefly so i dont have the manuel. I guess i'll just look it up online. My problem with the command list is both not being able to see or understand it. I have a huge 42 inch and i still struggle to see what i have to do with the analog stick. Sometimes it will tell me to move the analog stick in a Z formation (arcade style) so i do that and it never works 😂 Then, there are moves that have a star next to them. So, i gather that that means i have to press two attack buttons at once but that doesn't do anything for me. I guess i'll just do it the ol fashion way by trial and error. At least until i get a ps3. I have a feeling that this game would be so much easier with the ps3 controller.

Focus Attacks

Focus Attacks, known as "Saving System" in the Japanese version,[14] is a new system that is being introduced in Street Fighter IV. The focus attack is a move that allows the player to absorb an attack and launch a counter attack, and it is performed by pressing the medium punch and kick buttons simultaneously. There are two phases to the attack. In the first phase, the player will shift into a new stance, at which point he or she is able to absorb one attack from the opponent. The second phase is the counter attack. The longer the player holds down the medium punch and kick buttons the more powerful the attack will be. If the buttons are held for long enough the attack will be unblockable and cause the opponent to crumple slowly to the ground, allowing the player to follow up with a free hit. Attacks that were absorbed during the first phase of the focus attack still cause damage to the player; however, life lost from the opponent's attack will be regenerated afterward. In addition, during the first phase of the focus attack the player may perform a dash either forward or backward to cancel the focus attack. Finally, at the cost of half the super combo gauge, many special moves can be canceled into a focus attack. By executing a focus attack during the special move, the animation of the move will be cut short and go instantly into the focus attack animation. This allows players with precise timing to cancel special moves into focus attacks, and in turn cancel focus attacks into the forward dash, resulting in new combo possibilities. If a special move is blocked by the opponent, the new system allows players to cancel the blocked move with a focus attack, and then cancel the focus attack by dashing backward safely away from the opponent.

Ono has stated that this system was incorporated in order to shift the emphasis away from combos and toward a more realistic system he has compared to boxing, in which "the skill is in reading your opponent's move before he or she starts moving ... We haven't forgotten about combos and linked moves, but focus makes it so that you have to read your opponent."[15] The system aims to make ground attacks as viable a way of approaching opponents as jumping was in previous games.[15] The focus system is a core part of Street Fighter IV's gameplay.[16]

Got it from wiki.

Since you can't really understand the move list, you should go to gamefaqs. They are alot better at helpin' you than I can be.

I do my "Z" motions by slidin' my thumb across forward and down then back to forward again, very fast.

oooh, those are focus attacks. Ok I didn't know thats what that was called. Yeah, that comes in quite handy. I use that quite often to break up combo's. i just need to better learn when to use it. Thanks a lot for posting that partner. I'm going to hit up gamewinners and gamefaqs later and see if i can't copy down a few moves. My biggest problem at the moment is being able to consistently execute the moves. Thanks man.

The only real technical problem I have playing the game is using two quarter circles, which is required to use Ryu's Messatsu Hadouken among various other moves.

thats most of the supers / ultras in the game o_O

Just got this game a couple days ago. Loving the controls and it's really a great game to play with friends and family. Unlock most of the characters (Akuma, Gouken, and Seth) on medium because Seth is already pretty hard on medium so probably won't do hard until I get better. The characters that I can play are Sagat, Ryu, Sakura, Dan (lol), Chun Li and Ken.

Haven't gave online a shot but are they good?

I know.

I have the hardest times wit the Guile-like supers and ultras. When I 1st got the game, it was easy but for some reason I can't do it anymore at all. In any SF game, for some reason.

Charge moves you mean?

Out of all the people I play with, only I am able to successfully do them without fail. 131

Urghh, I can never get the charge moves/combos done. That's why I don't use Blanka that much even though he's my all time favorite. Or maybe the xbox 360 controller is gay.
