Excuse for him? If I were trying to boost him, wouldn't I be trying to make the feat as impressive as possible?
I'm saying that any lantern could have done it, assuming they kept fear out of their head.
Unless, of course, you assert that he did it on natural durability alone.....
Which would make sense, considering the nature of his uniform.

Because who wouldn't be afraid when they're going on what very well could have turned out to be a suicide mission? They were afraid that Yat would be afraid, therefore, his autoshields wouldn't kick in.

What? It's not that crazy of an idea. There is no real proof either way, except for the fact that an auto shield probably wouldn't have let his costume get shredded, and his body all scratched up and bloody.See? NOW I'm making wild assertions for him. 😛.
i've been doing nothing but teasing for the past few posts... 😛

Dammit. GL costumes are not supposed to be made of cloth anyway. 👇
i think thats more a ring thing... like in the matrix, the whole residual self image thing... if a gl is in a fight, he might imagine that his uniform would be torn, and the ring would reflect that...
damn, i need some more straws to clutch at...
Now that I think back, Kyle was looking at Alan holding the whore's body and then looked away as if he saw something. Would it be natural to assume he saw a giant, green whale adorned with GL symbols?
If so, why was he the only person to see it and why was he so confused when Sinestro told him about the whale?
Also, that looked like the Starheart symbol that Kyle saw in the painting during the Parallax special.

Quit trying to make sense of it.
The writers, almost certainly, just conveniently forgot about it .
