Superman vs Silver surfer

Angry that time was running out, Superman flexes his own might and breaks free, in the process sending the Surfer hurling away...in surprise of Superman's power.

Superman: I don't have time for this!

Surfer: Then you leave me no choi...

KRAKATHOOOOoooommmm!!!!

Before the Surfer could finish his sentence, Superman has sped toward the silvery being and unleashed a punch that would be felt miles away. The Surfer is shaken, he's not been hit so hard by ANYONE in recent memory...and he will not allow this stranger to land another one. Just as Superman is ready to take what he presumes to be the finishing blow, his punch is caught by the Surfer.

Surfer: Stop now. We have no more time to waste.

Superman: NO!

With that said, Superman's eyes turn molten red, and a wide beam blasts out against the Surfer's entire being. The Surfer is once again surprised by the power of this being he is facing. The Surfer has traveled through stars and supernovas, and the heat of this being's eyebeam is hotter still! Luckily, his power cosmic enhanced body renders the beam relatively harmless.

Surfer now unleashes his own offense...sending a blast of cosmic energy outward from his hands straight into the chest of Superman...sending him flying into a large asteroid.

Fellas, I just read that the Surfer can use the power cosmic to increase "any" of his stats. Therefore, even if he doesn't instantly absorb the solar energy from superman, which he could do, it should still be a squash. Based on there power sets, that is.

Red sun radiation is not a sure win. Nor is K-nite, which I STRONGLY doubt Surfer can just make out of thin air. While I believe he has the ability to analyze Superman and determine how to weaken him with K-nite or red sun radiation, I don't think he can figure it out in the heat of battle or take the time to correlate the data into creating a wavelength or radiation that doesn't even exist in his universe.

Plus, red sun only freezes his powers, it doesn't depower him persay. And k-nite just doesn't work as well as it used to. Anyone thinking Surfer can take Superman in CQC is delusional. That part shouldn't even be up for discussion. Amping be damned, Surfer doesn't have a single strength or amping feat that puts him at Superman's level.

Surfer can create thing from nothing. Like the weapon of Power Cosmic he did to Doom.

I think that not only he could shoot him with k-nite or "freezing" him with red sun, but absorb he's yellow sun energies. And before he get his power back, even if it's in an instant, he would have already his head chopped, because Surfer is FTL.

And that's only one possibility, Don't forget that Surfer take with no problem at all punches throwed by Hulk, who is aguably on par with Sups on strenght department. And he's powerful enough to go h2h with Gladiator. So, I don't think that throwing punch is an issue at all for Sups.

red sun only works if its continuously hitting superman. and even then, he has to be out of the sun for it to work... kryptonite could do it, though...

as far as pound for pound slugging, though? superman is as good as anyone when it comes down to it, imo...
