Just had t o refresh some memories here on the topic and especially to those whom are in denial and those whom act like racism isn't a small problem in the U.S. Racism, it seems, is now even pouring over into the scientific community as well.So here it is. Again.
Racism and Whiteness
Although all nations have had notions of national superiority at one time or the other, white people (specifically, early modern Europeans) developed this notion to "unprecedented" levels as an intrinsic element of the process of colonisation and imperialism. This resulted in the notion of superiority based on race (a euphemism for skin color). This ideology was then used as "justification" for their subjugation of non-white people across the world. Essentially, white people constructed a hierarchy based on 'race', with whites at the top. This created a de-facto global class system based on skin color - with white being seen as the standard against which all others were judged. This folksonomy produced real social effects such as white privilege for whites and colorism between non-whites, with many non-whites competing for proximity to "whiteness" by bleaching their skin (see skin whitening) and adopting a variety of white cultural practices in the form of manners, dress, speech, cultural tastes and Eurocentric aesthetics.
Although laws have been introduced in most countries worldwide, to dismantle this folksonomy, its tenets appear to be still deeply ingrained in many societies (see postcolonialism, colonial mentality and skin whitening). In many ways, this "mental subjugation" (or "internalised orientalism"😉 is the most harrowing aspect of racism, as it is not "directly observable", and therefore difficult to recognize, let alone ameliorate. Whole swathes of nonwhite people have absorbed, by means of cultural osmosis (or memes), subconscious feelings of inferiority, and a poor self image either by way of their direct contact with white people (through enslavement, assimilationist immigration policies, or practices of ethnic cleansing - see Indigenous peoples of the Americas, Indigenous Australians) or through indoctrination (i.e. colonisation).
Generally, the closer an individual's skin color approximates to "whiteness" on the "race hierarchy" established by Europeans, the more the "psychological wages of whiteness" accrue. This has led to wide scale skin whitening in many parts of the world where indigenous peoples have been exposed to racist ideology (either overtly or covertly) via one of the aforementioned events (i.e. subjugation of one sort or the other by white people). Low self image often leads to depression and sometimes internalized oppression, but can also be the cause of intense resentment of a former "oppressor" by a former "oppressee" and may sometimes lead to a "revenge mentality" by those who feel aggrieved or victimised as a result of (real or perceived) ongoing racism in their society/community.
It is impossible to estimate (i.e. put a monetary/societal value) on how much worse off we are (either as a society or globally, as humans), as a result of millions of people worldwide being unable to achieve their full potential, as a result of lowered self image and actual discrimination resulting directly or indirectly from racism. Some white people on the other hand, also, feel a sense of guilt (see white guilt) for the global marginalisation of non-white people (in favour of white people) that had its genesis in racist ideology (and continues to be perpetuated by racism), whilst other white people feel they are "under siege" as a result of historic events that they were "not personally responsible for" (although white people as a whole, continue to benefit from a world system that evolved from a series of historical events that can be directly linked to racism - and now manifest itself in "economic racism" - see neocolonialism and dependency theory)

Everyone can be racist, not just white people.

I have a shallow outlook on the fcuked race relations in this country.I do not have disdain for Whites. Why do you think so? Why would I lie and say I like Whites when I really don't like them? How false is that? I'm sure you've noticed that I'm not a coward when it comes to expressing myself, my thoughts and how I really feel about something on here. And being fake by being a closet racist wouldn't be me. If I didn't like, or hate, Whites I come out and say it, knowing full well I have the right to do so without giving 2 sh*ts about the scorn I'd receive in here for being that way. The thing is is that that's worst that can happen.
What have I got to lose, if I didn't like, or hate, Whites and expressed so on K.M.C.? Alot of people get away with calling Blacks "n*ggers" in here all the time. They're mostly goaded and/or praised cause of it but you'd get 1 or 2 people getting back at him and everyone just moves along.
So stop thinking I hate White people. It's getting old now.
I'm mostly wrong in my statements? Most of my statements include your quotes. So, that doesn't make sense.
If you can't handle the flak you get for the stupid things you say, then just don't say it in the first place. That way, you don't have to waste our time telling us you didn't say it. And we don't have to waste yours by quoting you.

Brown RP, Day EA.
Department of Psychology, The University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK 73019, USA. [email protected]
This study addresses recent criticisms aimed at the interpretation of stereotype threat research and methodological weaknesses of previous studies that have examined race differences on Raven's Advanced Progressive Matrices (APM). African American and White undergraduates completed the APM under three conditions. In two threat conditions, participants received either standard APM instructions (standard threat) or were told that the APM was an IQ test (high threat). In a low threat condition, participants were told that the APM was a set of puzzles and that the researchers wanted their opinions of them. Results supported the stereotype threat interpretation of race differences in cognitive ability test scores. Although African American participants underperformed Whites under both standard and high threat instructions, they performed just as well as Whites did under low threat instructions.
Journal of Applied Psychology 2006 91, 979-985.
***The experiment basically concludes that black/white test scores are based on the fact that black people are under more stress when told that they are being tested against whites or that they may be steryotyped against and thus perform poorly.
The most interesting part of the result was that the test was the same in all three conditions, so the participants who performed what they thought was an IQ test got a lower score on the exact same test that participants thought they were just giving their opinions on and were not really being graded.
Like anything in science, no one study proves anything conclusively, but it is interesting none the less, and sort of in stark contrast to the other study I posted earlier. [/B]
Please, someone correct me if I am wrong...
From what I can "get" from that study, I see that actually "white" people are somewhat lazy when they know they are being compared to "black people". Though this study is only one study and many would have to be conducted and peer reviewed in order for the results to be completely valid, it appears that "black people" put forth more effort.
What does everyone else take from this study?

What. You magically forgot the time when you called Indians "noble savages" and African people just regular savages based on what you've seen (in the media) on the atrocities that are going on in a couple of countries over there?I know a thread/poll will show that most Whites in KMC think blacks are indeed less intelligent than Whites.
And I guess Black people are still around cause they're fighters. They've persisted and persevered relentlessly. They had to in order to survive your forefathers daily. And the slaves were freed partly cause of the sting of hypocrisy with "Being an American", the chicken scratched used toilet paper you call the Constitution and the treament of Black "American Citizens"by Whites.
Blacks have achieved so much cause they've had to. Either that or die. Remember Whites made it illegal for Blacks to read and write in America. Whites made it illegal for Blacks in the U.S. to do mostly anything human basically. Did you know in WW2, Black "U.S." war soldiers when injured in combat, medics could only use only another Black persons blood cause blood was segregated. And this was legal. And they still fought for this country with that hate. They were receiving hate from both sides; from both the U.S. and the axis and still went to war. They're fighters. They've been and still go through the worst and somehow still succeed. Successful Blacks got there cause they've ignored racism along the way. It's probably cause they've been numb to it.
I would really like to meet you in person. Maybe we could go eat lunch somwhere and have a nice discussion. Seriously.

Yeah, it's just a ton of Blacks believe most Whites are. Especially the ones whom went through what they went through in the 60's with White people when the U.S. Gov't made it illegal for White people to discriminate against Blacks after centuries of doing it. And the law hasn't worked.

Get the **** out of here. We don't want your kind around these parts.

Yet I wouldn't say most whites think most blacks are racist....which really means....black people are more racist that whites?
Originally posted by FistOfThe NorthSince you don't know that it is true and there is no way that you can then yes by your definition of racism it is.
First of all I said alot not most. And is it racist if it's true?
I'm referring to your past statements in addition to this one where you claim that most white are racist and most black think they are, both statements would be invalid unless you have hard evidence to support your claims which you do not.

See, who said "most"? You'd love for it to be "most" so you could justify.
